I took my dad in for his. It's about as close to a date as two straight guys will get. Clean out the day before, head to an unfamiliar spot, get knocked out, let someone run a scope up there, then grab a late meal. Take it easy on yourself for the few pounds and just restart the usual plan.

I've gone through a few. The prep is worse than the actual scope. You usually hear the results once you wake up. Anything sent for testing takes a few days but chances are it's nothing serious so don't assume the worst.

Thanks everyone getting older is rough. Ignoring health stuff until my late forties was a bad move. Stopping smoking dropping weight recent operations and doctor visits are now priorities. Not living forever after all. And to the other person dealing with health stuff hope it all works out for you too.

Mine was miralax and laxative mixed in sports drink. No stomach pain but plenty of bathroom trips. Besides worrying about the procedure itself it went smoothly with no big after effects.

I had a couple of those procedures back to back in April. Potassium was low so they gave me two bags. That part is really unpleasant.

Had mine at fifty two and was told I was good for ten years because everything looked clean. Not planning on another unless PSA changes. Found one spot of diverticulosis. A few years later ended up with diverticulitis and a perforation. Had a bad smell for weeks bad breath and severe pain from leaking fluid. Strong IV antibiotics kept me from getting sepsis. Gut health matters a lot. Early checks could have helped my dad. Glad folks are getting it done even though the scope itself is unpleasant.

You might drop all those extra pounds today from the prep.

Saw a video with anesthesiologists talking about whether to pause the shots before a scope. They suggested not stopping but going without solid food for over twenty four hours and using clear calorie drinks instead. The point was pausing a week ahead might not be required. My next one is three years out so I'll see if rules change by then.

Had to pause the medication for seven days ahead of the scope. The doctor didn't mention it the instructions just said so.

Funny how strangers you wouldn't recognize end up on your mind after reading this. Need an update or at least a sign everything is okay. Been thinking about it all day hoping things went fine.

Hopefully they start with the upper scope. If you wake up with a bad taste then you know the order was reversed. Joking aside hope it all went okay.

Get the seat warmed up. The prep actually felt like a good clean out. The procedure itself was odd with a nurse holding your hand while everything gets prepped.

Had my first one a couple months ago at sixty eight. Prep was the worst the nap was nice and the doctor gave results before I left. Biopsy came back fine a few days later. Stopped the shots two weeks ahead as instructed. Hope the other person's procedure went okay too.

Needed two rounds last year because the first prep was poor from the slowing effect of the shots even after pausing a week. Second time used extra prep but still not great. They took sixteen samples so probably didn't miss anything. Not rushing to do it again soon.

Sorry to hear. I have a nose procedure in two weeks so stopped the shot last Tuesday. Still under fifty so could do the at home test instead of the scope. At least no work today is a small plus.

At 47 with relatives who dealt with cancer I really need to schedule that procedure soon. Last time after checking with the coverage provider they said the plan here in the states would handle it all. Instead a big invoice showed up because the codes got mixed up. The company refused to step in so I paid the whole thing. From that I realized the office staff who handle the paperwork understand the details better than the agent going off a script. Still that nap was fantastic just like others mentioned.
