When did you know Tirz was working?

Summary

When do people first notice tirzepatide effects on appetite and food noise?

Experiences vary widely. Some report hunger and food noise disappearing within hours of the first dose while others feel nothing at the starting 2.5 mg level and only notice changes after increasing. Prior use of semaglutide can raise the dose needed for noticeable results. Many advise waiting several weeks before adjusting rather than relying on immediate sensations as proof the medication is active.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether early sensations are chemical or placebo, and whether to titrate early if no effects appear at 2.5 mg.

How long to wait at the lowest dose before concluding it is not working for a given person.

Nothing here is advice.

Good morning. This has probably come up before but I couldn't locate a thread. I took my second 2.5 mg shot last Friday and still don't notice any changes. Online answers go from normal to immediate effects. I wonder when others here first realized it was active. On Ozempic I noticed less interest in food and smaller meals within days of the first shot. Nothing similar so far with this one. Should I wait it out or raise the amount?

Someone told me to begin at 5 mg before I learned more. Effects hit inside an hour. Appetite and food thoughts vanished. Scale showed about ten pounds down between day two and five. I won't suggest moving up sooner than planned. Still, don't give up yet.

Reactions seem to differ. I noticed a shift within the first few days after starting at 1.5 mg. Part of that early change might have been expectation rather than the medication itself. For years I had wanted relief from constant thoughts about eating, so anything promising that relief could have created a mental boost. The medication continues to help after three months, though.

It varies by person. Hunger reduction showed up after six hours for me, yet many need to raise the dose before anything registers.

How long ago did you finish Ozempic and what amount were you using? Switching from semaglutide often requires a larger starting amount of tirzepatide. When I began I noticed appetite and food thoughts drop within hours.

I also took my second shot on Sunday but began at only 0.5 mg because I react strongly to medicines. I keep wondering whether it will work. At this low level I do not expect much until the amount goes up. Food thoughts have quieted a bit and the usual afternoon tiredness has not appeared, so something is happening.

It has been several months. I finished Ozempic last June and July at 1 mg before coverage rules changed. Finding this group and its information was encouraging after nearly giving up on these medications. My hopes might have been set too high and I may be overthinking the lack of early signs.

Noticed the username. Another YoYo. Ozempic is semaglutide and works differently from tirzepatide. Give the 2.5 mg more time because immediate feelings are not the best sign of activity. If no weight change shows after another couple of weeks then raise the dose. Increases can be done in smaller steps such as half or one milligram instead of jumping straight to 5.

The prior Ozempic use could explain the slow start. What was your last Ozempic amount? After moving from 5 mg tirzepatide weekly to 2 mg of another medication I felt nothing for two weeks. Spacing doses to every five days eventually brought effects and two pounds lost. Avoid rushing the increase.

Yes, same group. Thanks for fixing the spelling. Strange that I never noticed it myself after seeing the name on the pens for months. Appreciate the input.

I mix up b’s and p’s constantly. It is a pitch!

Just avoid saying tRiz and everything stays fine.

Quick update. Last Friday I raised the dose from 2.5 mg to 5 mg. That change produced the expected results: no food thoughts, clear appetite reduction, everything.
