Having a prescription ready, I'm considering getting the medication sent over from India. Will the package carry any special labeling to let it clear border checks smoothly? The cost is far lower there than here, yet consistent arrival still matters to me.

There's no link between border paperwork and any prescription needs. Honestly those forms are probably not even accurate.
I figure the question you're really asking is whether a prescription from your physician automatically allows bringing medication in from overseas. It does not. When you live in the states and the package gets held at the border nothing further occurs beyond receiving a letter in the mail from the officials. The letter explains what they took and asks you to sign and send it back as confirmation. Just discard the letter because nothing else ever comes of it.
A prescription won't help at the border though. Out of six orders just one got taken and that counts as pretty fortunate or maybe not. From what I've seen the usual rate sits around one to five percent. The money saved means a couple of losses won't hurt much yet ordering smaller amounts each time helps. On the quality side the blood pressure medication has worked fine after a full year doing exactly what it should. It was prescribed to me but sourcing it overseas turned out better.
