Normal side effects?

Summary

what happens if you jump from 5 mg to 10 mg of a GLP-1 peptide after already having diarrhea at the lower dose

The original poster doubled the dose despite ongoing stomach issues and suffered severe sweating, diarrhea, stomach pain and headache. Multiple users pointed out the mistake, warned about dehydration risk and long half-life, and advised dropping back to a low starting dose with slower titration. The OP later agreed to return to 2.5 mg and increase more gradually.

What this discussion establishesStill open

whether the user will actually follow the slower titration plan this time

Nothing here is advice.

I started at 5 mg weekly and got diarrhea for a few days after each shot. Last night I tried 10 mg and woke up feeling much worse: heavy sweating unless the AC is freezing, more diarrhea, stomach pain, and a mild headache. The stomach pain and diarrhea are the worst parts.

BrightSignal73archiveFeb 3

How long were you on the 5 mg dose before jumping up? Did you start at 2 mg and follow the usual slow increase?

BlueTimber78archiveFeb 3

You already had bad reactions lasting multiple days at 5 mg and then doubled it anyway. Not sure what question you're asking.

RustQuill44archiveFeb 3

This low dose is giving bad side effects, let's 2x it.

They don't seem particularly clever, do they?

CopperSignal27archiveFeb 3

This sounds like a fast way to land in the hospital dehydrated from GLP drugs, especially if vomiting starts too. I don't see the point of raising the dose when side effects were already happening. The sensible move is to stop until things settle, then restart lower. Or maybe don't restart until you've learned more about using them safely.

SlowSignal13archiveFeb 3

I'm confused why anyone would double the dose after already having unpleasant effects on half of it.

AmberFenwick92archiveFeb 3

Yes, I'm going back down to 2.5 mg like I began with. I don't think I had diarrhea at that level, but I did at 5 mg. 10 mg feels unbearable, though my appetite is barely there.

This appears genuine. Strap in tight everyone!!!

AmberCompass48archiveFeb 3

Hey folks, I jabbed that compound right into my balls the other day and now they're all puffed up with blood coming out. Planning to hit them with twice the amount later just to test things out and maybe stop the leaking, fingers crossed it works.

Before this a few of us pointed out that raising the amount too rapidly was unwise yet you ignored that completely. Now you're facing the outcome you brought on yourself. Must feel awful going through it at the moment.

LevelLedger10archiveFeb 3

People kept telling you over and over to avoid this step. When you dismiss input from those here who put effort into studying and hold hands-on knowledge about these compounds, it makes me question why you bother sharing at all. Acting without caution that way is going to land you in trouble fast.

Yeah, I hate to admit it but the guy really doesn't strike me as all that bright.

LevelLedger10archiveFeb 3

I have to agree with that observation. This seems like the very first individual who's managed to really annoy me in this discussion space. Whenever folks acting so carelessly land in the hospital, it draws extra attention to our whole scene and makes enforcement actions more likely than before. Maybe this participant ought to get a distinctive tag indicating it's pointless to offer input because they disregard it. Empathy is in short supply for me at the moment, yet I still want the person who started this thread to recover quickly without serious ongoing effects.

CopperSignal27archiveFeb 3

Seriously, I meant every word when pointing out how easily this lands people in the emergency room. Dehydration triggered by constant nausea, vomiting and loose stools ranks as the leading cause when folks begin these treatments. It occurs often with unregulated versions, typically from confusing the measurements and taking several times the intended quantity plus having zero guidance on handling the reactions. In this situation there was apparently some mention of ramping up amounts gradually, yet the substance stays active for many days so any severe reaction lingers just as long. If keeping liquids down proves impossible and standard anti sickness tablets fail, the remaining choice becomes receiving fluids through an intravenous line until levels finally drop.

Folks like that really irritate me too. From here on I'll skip over anything he writes. Choosing not to take suggestions is fine yet you shouldn't grumble about the outcomes afterward.

LevelPebble75archiveFeb 3

It seems like this person joined only to stir up arguments on purpose. What he put in his opening message claims he's been looking through the discussions for thirty days already. But anyone spending that long checking out the place should have figured out the usual way things work by now.

Actually I kept five milligrams going through about five shots before going straight up to ten. It wasn't an attempt to provoke anyone, just the step I took. Now I see I should have tried six or eight instead when increasing, but that was simply an error. So I'm dropping back to two point five for a while and if a few weeks pass without major problems then maybe four before six and so on.

SharpCinder28archiveFeb 3

I find that maintaining a smaller amount and dividing the shots of reta or similar compounds into two or more administrations each week reduces issues. With every one of these types I've tested, diarrhea occurs unless the amount stays minimal. That's why I avoid the stronger concentration options. Have you thought about adding cagri to enhance a minimal reta amount? I keep overlooking trying it once more. My experience is limited to two uses of 250 mcg cagri, which produced no results positive or negative. Long term, a probiotic with saccharomyces boulardii has offered partial relief from the loose stools these cause, yet it falls short of allowing a higher amount.

Cracking up so hard because I took the opening line all earnest until the next bit threw me off completely. To tell the truth I examined the details thoroughly before raising anything in tiny increments and staying aware of my reactions. Sending positive energy haha

PatientCompass79archiveFeb 3

They pulled your status for it completely. Hand over the containers and needles when leaving, and avoid any future attempts at raising doses without care.

Looking at the buildup graph you posted, it appears your dosing started near the beginning of January with 2.5 mg each week for two weeks, then increased to 5 mg during the following week. From what I can gather, a few weeks after that you went up to 10 mg. At the lowest amount the maximum level would hit 3.1 mg, or 3.8 mg after another two weeks if unchanged. The middle dose created highs of 5.6 mg initially and 6.9 mg next, potentially reaching 7.8 mg after a month. The top dose gave a first peak of 11.5 mg and could go to 15.6 mg in four weeks. What matters is that big swings up and down in concentration aren't good because your system needs time to adapt. Quick jumps like that tend to produce more unwanted effects and could lead to reduced response later. In short, I wish you a fast recovery and that you've gained some insight from it. Edit: Speaking of the water you got from Thailand, I hope it's the right sterile type.

Can't recall the starting date but the schedule went something like this. Began with 2.5 milligrams during the initial fortnight using a pair of shots. Then five milligrams across five weeks with five shots total. Followed by one shot at ten milligrams. After dealing with reactions for roughly a day from that higher amount I'm feeling much better though not completely back to normal. The diarrhea stopped but some gut sounds remain. What comes next for me is returning to 2.5 milligram shots to check the reactions. Assuming those go well I'll move up to four milligrams a bit later then six and higher. Raising the level after around four shots seems like the way to go based on what I've heard. The bacteriostatic water for reconstitution doesn't seem related to the problems I'm experiencing.

Back in the seventies I spent a year in that spot and only ever used sealed bottles for drinking. I was sort of joking about the liquid. Reports on some versions have shown worrying findings. I remember seeing a comment where someone's generic type left them with stomach cramps and diarrhea. For myself I only go with one particular product and always pass it through a filter after mixing. Results vary for everyone else.
