Undigested bits in stool while using triz

8 replies7 peopleJan 18, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Why am I seeing undigested vegetable pieces in my stool on tirzepatide, especially around 48 hours after dosing?

Users report noticing leaves, carrot bits and similar in stool while on tirz, with timing often around two days post-dose. Some link it to slowed upper digestion paired with faster lower GI transit or to increased vegetable intake, while others state it is simply normal insoluble fiber acting as roughage with no connection to the medication. Remedies mentioned for related diarrhea include probiotics and other aids, and the pattern is described as a cycle of slowdown followed by a purge around day three.

It could be from changing my diet since I'm having more vegetables and salads now, but it's strange seeing undigested leaves and carrot pieces in my stool. Especially around two days after taking a dose. The side effects from triz seem to kick in about 48 hours later for some reason.

I haven't experienced that with triz. It seems odd because I'd expect the slower stomach emptying to let food break down more, not less, with the added time. What dosage are you using?

The top part of the digestive tract slows down, yet the lower part might speed up or slow down compared to usual. Right, that timing matches when levels are highest, around 24 to 48 hours after the shot. Being mostly vegetarian makes people in that category more likely to have loose stools from eating plants.

Haven't seen it, but I've only been on it for three months. I changed over to reta instead.

I've experienced loose stools with every GLP medication, especially at the start or when raising the amount. My preferred solution for this issue has been a probiotic. Other options that work for me include over-the-counter antidiarrheals and kratom.

It's a rough pattern: the stomach slows down its emptying. Around the third day there's a purge as the gut reacts against the slowdown. Then the intestinal bacteria have to rebuild. It's unpleasant.

Things like carrots, lettuce, peppers and corn don't get completely broken down by the colon since they contain insoluble fiber. They function like a broom cleaning things out, which is why roughage benefits you. This isn't related to Tirz at all. If someone doesn't notice these bits, it means they're not consuming enough roughage.
