4 Days of Melanotan-I research...very happy

Summary

user experiences with melanotan I dosing side effects and tanning results compared to melanotan II

Users report MT1 produces a light sunkissed tan after a few days of low-dose daily use plus sun exposure with minimal burning or new spots for olive skin tones. Side effects like nausea flushing or libido changes are described as absent or mild and short-lived unlike MT2. Maintenance dosing drops quickly once color appears and some continue seeing gradual darkening even on covered areas. Long-term safety data is cited as stronger for MT1 while individual results vary by skin type and UV exposure.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

whether MT1 or MT2 carries higher long-term risk with some citing vasoconstriction versus vasodilation and others pointing to case reports confounded by sunbed use

Okay four days on melanotan I. No more than thirty minutes of direct sun but plenty of time outside. First photo right after the initial shot second photo four days later. I wanted a light sunkissed tone not a deep tan so this result makes me happy with no burn at all. Olive skin sixty-two years old and no makeup in the pictures.

SteadyTimber49archiveMay 19

Interesting. I am a bit freaked out but also curious. My girlfriend tried it and mentioned diarrhea plus extreme libido. Did any of that happen for you?

I think the libido effect belongs to ML2 not ML1.

BrightSignal76archiveMay 19

The nausea and spontaneous effects would put me off. At fifty-five I also worry existing freckles could darken and look like liver spots making me appear older. I would probably skip a kit and try just one bottle in spring at a very low dose. Tadalafil already handles the other issue well enough.

I am also really enjoying MT1. Only a couple weeks in and I have the best tan I have ever gotten without burning which is unusual for me. No melasma triggered either. A couple days of flushing at the start but that stopped. Now down to one or two times a week and I get brief nausea about thirty minutes after but it passes fast.

No those effects are what melanotan 2 is known for which is why I avoided it. I tried PT141 that comes from MT2 and it made me really sick. No problems with MT1.

Yeah I am only aiming for a light sunkissed look for my sister's wedding in July. At sixty-two I am watching for age spots but nothing new so far.

BrightSignal76archiveMay 19

How many milligrams per week does it take to develop a tan and does the color fade faster than a normal tan once you stop? I am trying to figure out how many vials would cover a light honey tone from June through September with very little sun.

WarmWillow50archiveMay 19

First week I did two hundred micrograms daily for five days. Second week two hundred fifty micrograms every other day. Maintenance around two hundred to two hundred fifty twice a week. Still figuring it out since this is my first time. By day four I was already at maintenance level and did not want to go darker. Olive skin so I tan fairly easily but usually get a slight burn early in summer. This time none.

She is talking about MT1 and you are referring to MT2.

MT1 is just a bit weaker but shares the same side effects and risks at lower intensity. Keeping consistent with full transparency I need to share what others have experienced.

WarmWillow50archiveMay 20

I will add that for me MT1 produced no nausea and one beauty mark on my lip got darker though it did not grow.

KeenTimber66archiveJun 5

MT1 point five milligrams twice a day while walking shirtless about two miles each time. Stopping after one vial.

Dumb question but is that safe for your skin?

ClearBeacon24archiveJun 5
↳ replying to @KeenQuill44

Sure it just signals melanin release the same way sitting in the sun does.

BrightSignal76archiveJun 5

Stay away from the MT2. That is the bad one.

BrightSignal76archiveJun 6

After reading more NIH articles it seems about fifty-fifty between the two. One leans toward cancer concerns the other toward diabetes. One acts as a vasoconstrictor the other a vasodilator.

NorthCinder83archiveJun 6

I used MT1 for two months then had to stop because freckles and brown spots appeared everywhere. I did get darker with no other sides but now it makes my dermatologist visits more complicated.

No offense but the diarrhea and extreme libido part made me laugh out loud. Definitely not a combination anyone would want. Hey honey come here then running to the bathroom. Sorry I feel like a kid laughing but it just hit me that way.

BrightSignal76archiveJun 6

I wonder if the people who had sides titrated up too fast or started at too high a dose.

SlowSparrow78archiveJun 6

I just bought a kit of MT1 and this post got me excited to try it. Will I only tan where the sun hits? I always wear sunblock on my face because of tretinoin so I wonder if that would keep my face from changing tone.

ClearBeacon24archiveJun 6
↳ replying to @SlowSparrow78

Yes and I still tanned evenly on my face even while using sunscreen. It only needs the body to start melanin release and MT1 keeps it going longer.

Have you tried it yet? How is it going?

WarmWillow50archiveJul 4

Update after a while. I keep getting darker even though I do not lay out. My legs which get almost no sun have also ticked a bit darker. I heard this can happen with olive skin tones and it did for me. My sunkissed goal turned into a full tan. No increase in age spots or new ones but an existing beauty mark got darker. I do not really have freckles so cannot speak to those.

I wanted to try MT1 for ages but I like being outdoors and have always worried about burning or ending up too tan and looking silly.

KeenSparrow17archiveJul 6

Just to try and clear some of this up. MT1 the approved drug afamelanotide only activates the melanocortin one receptor. MT2 hits MC1R plus MC3 4 and 5R which is why it brings libido nausea and appetite changes. MT1 avoids those extra effects. MT2 is stronger at MC1R so it tans more evenly even without UV while MT1 can be patchier and affect the face more without sun. Long-term MT1 data showed no extra melanoma risk over controls. MT2 lacks that testing so the risk is unknown. Most MT2 melanoma reports involve sunbed use which is already a known risk. In healthy skin MC1R activation seems protective by building eumelanin that blocks UV.

Interesting. My experience with MT1 has been an even all-over tan with no patchiness though maybe that is because of my starting skin tone. Someone fairer might see different results.

SlowLantern29archiveJul 7
↳ replying to @WarmWillow50

From what I have read patchiness and getting overly dark happened more with MT2. Plenty of reasons to stay with MT1 for safety.

I appreciate the summary and the data sources. It is refreshing compared to the formatted AI posts without any citations. Thanks.

I have not had the chance yet. The kit arrived a while ago but it is winter here in Australia and even though it is not as hot there still has not been a good stretch of sun for me to use with MT1 in my system.

KeenSparrow17archiveJul 7
↳ replying to @WarmWillow50

I'm pleased everything seems to be succeeding. Did sunlight reach most parts of your skin too? Or has the tan come out uniform even with little direct exposure?

KeenSparrow17archiveJul 7
↳ replying to @SlowLantern29

Interesting. The data is still not very robust beyond the MT1 approval studies. It is also hard to know with grey market products whether people are mixing up MT1 and MT2 or getting mislabeled vials. Less likely now with more testing but it used to be common. I have only used MT2 so far but might try MT1 for comparison. My own results have been great as a naturally pale ginger. Dosing two hundred fifty to five hundred micrograms most nights to sleep through any nausea averaging four times a week. Thanks. I agree anyone can sound smart with AI these days. Full disclosure I do use AI but differently. I run a crawler bot nightly that finds new DOI papers on my keywords pulls full texts when possible stores them and categorizes everything.

I do a lot of horseback riding so I get sun on my face shoulders and arms and those areas are getting darker. Still my base color on legs and torso has ticked a little darker without direct exposure. Not enough to call it a tan but noticeable.

SlowSparrow78archiveJul 31

How is it going now? Sun is back out here in Australia though still winter. I just did my first point two five milligram dose of MT1. Felt face flushing for about ten minutes cheeks still warm but no nausea which is great because I hate that. About to lie by the pool for half an hour hoping for the same quick difference you saw in four days. That would help my pale look a lot.

I wonder if a lower dose would still produce the tan you want eventually. I am not in a rush so I would rather go slower with less product.

WarmWillow50archiveAug 6

Let us know how it goes. It has been extremely effective for me to the point I am now avoiding sun because I am turning into a brown nut.

Nice would love to see the results.

Will definitely let you know. I just want a soft tan not anything too dark.

NorthWillow72archiveAug 6

I was curious how this affects vitamin D. Do you increase supplementation while using it? Google said...

I do not because of that. I take D3 with K2.
