I held on for a while. Eventually my mind seemed weary of moping alone and craving extra pleasure chemicals, labeling everything else as insufficiently enjoyable. Then it accepted that eating wouldn't deliver those feelings anymore, and began encouraging me toward alternative activities. These days I engage in many different pursuits and feel content once more, though the process lasted several months.
Tirzepatide lowers dopamine and that removes food noise along with the dopamine hit from looking forward to eating. It works well for me but leaves me with anhedonia so I have little interest in things I used to like. Curious if anyone has found ways to lessen this side effect.
