Do pens give accurate doses? They seem handy and look more official, but I'm concerned about getting the right amount especially when clicking for the dose on reusable versions versus single use ones.
Some are some aren't. For whatever pen you have, load a cartridge with water, place it in the pen, then put an empty regular syringe into the cartridge and check several different doses a number of times.
Testing the pen via syringe showed me passing the fluid back and forth a few times was necessary or else the reading ends up way off.

Later ones in that category usually turn out unreliable. Another maker's versions also tend toward excess output. Those happen to suit my situation since I keep my compound inside one. I began with basic affordable choices that hold up. I picked up pairs of each type. Checking occurs right after they arrive and again on a regular cycle for the ones already in use. They simply do not endure without end.
I am considering whether to continue relying on the small bottle and the syringe designed for insulin.
Don't forget the cartridge itself affects how precise the outcome ends up being. The device should shift the plunger straight ahead by a controlled distance. What gets dispensed then depends on how much that plunger travels along with the cartridge size.
Weekly dosing holds no interest for me. Using pens speeds up the daily shots quite a bit though.
