Considering Adding Tirzepatide Alongside Retatrutide

4 replies3 peopleApr 20, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Should I stack tirzepatide with retatrutide to break a weight-loss plateau?

The original poster has been on 6 mg weekly retatrutide for several months, lost nearly two stone, then stalled for about a week and is considering adding tirzepatide on a split schedule. Replies suggest increasing the retatrutide dose unless food noise is the main issue, in which case a low starting dose of tirzepatide could be added. One participant notes that tirzepatide is cheaper but the savings are modest once different pricing structures are considered.

A few months into retatrutide and I've already dropped almost two stone, but the scale hasn't moved in the last week. I'm thinking about adding tirzepatide to push past this plateau. Has anyone tried stacking the two? Current retatrutide dose is 6 mg a week. I'm planning to take retatrutide on Monday and tirzepatide on Thursday, but I'm not sure how much tirzepatide to start with.

I went ahead and raised my levels with that since nothing seemed to stand in the way.

If food noise is still a problem then tirzepatide could be worth adding, otherwise just raise the retatrutide. There are reasons to combine them, but only if you have a clear need. Fewer drugs makes it simpler to see what's actually happening. If you do add it, start low and go slow. One milligram seems like a reasonable beginning.

I agree, I don't want to add another peptide without a good reason, but I was hoping it might help keep costs down since tirzepatide is cheaper. That way I could hold the retatrutide dose steady or maybe even drop it a bit. I've just gotten past the side effects from retatrutide and don't want to risk bringing them back. Still, the stronger appetite control and lower cost are tempting.

Tirzepatide ends up being the less expensive option compared with retatrutide, though the yearly difference depends on whether retail or group pricing is used.
