GLP 1 weight loss and skin tightening with GHK CU

41 replies22 peopleFeb 20, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Does adding GHK-Cu during GLP-1 weight loss reduce loose skin?

Users share personal experiences with GHK-Cu while losing weight on GLP-1 drugs. Several report little to no loose skin or gradual skin improvements, plus stronger nails in those with EDS. Others see no tightening effect despite use and question whether stretched connective tissue can remodel. Safety concerns arise around possible widespread fibrous tissue changes, though some dismiss them as unsupported.

During weight loss some people end up with loose skin. Research and stories suggested GHK CU might help tighten it, so I wanted to know if anyone here saw similar results and whether it seems worth trying.

Started losing weight six months ago and used ghk the entire time. Dropped 88 pounds with no loose skin, so it seems to work.

RustKettle37archiveFeb 22

Lots of factors play a role. Age stands out because younger skin tends to recover better even with GHK-cu support. Middle-aged with modest weight to lose, on a GLP1 and GLOW for a month so far. Nothing noticeable yet but planning to switch to KPV and GHK-cu soon and hoping the small amount of stomach sag disappears by goal weight.

Maybe, though I'm approaching 60 and still had good results with it.

SteadyQuill55archiveFeb 23

What we really need are identical twins who are quite obese, get excited about tirz or reta here, start them, and have only one try Klow while the other skips it. Not suggesting we turn people into lab rats or specifically recruit twins, and even hinting at it might cross a line I don't want to approach. Still, if any twins post a welcome thread I intend to be extremely welcoming.

That is really impressive. Congrats on how far you've come.

The human peptide GHK has many positive biological actions including stimulating blood vessel and nerve growth plus increasing collagen and elastin. Lost nearly 40 pounds in two months on Tirz, BMI from 40 down to 33.7. Starting to notice loose skin on my neck so the article convinced me to try GHK-Cu. Also got some face cream and a micro-roller.

SteadyQuill60archiveFeb 26

Wish I had known about GHK-Cu earlier. This is my second time losing over 100 pounds and now at 39 the loose skin under my chin bothers me a lot even though the rest of my face stayed tight. Planning to get some and will update if I notice any improvement.

ClearBeacon24archiveFeb 26

It is not instant. It creates a short burst then clears quickly, within minutes to about twenty. The collagen improvement builds gradually from those brief bursts.

LevelKettle25archiveFeb 26

Almost finished first two-month cycle of GHK-Cu. Too early to judge skin tightening since I had already dropped 55 pounds before starting and now at 72. But I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which affects connective tissue and collagen. My nails were always very brittle and split easily. After about two weeks they stopped splitting even when I forgot to trim them. Only one split since then from hitting my finger. Still keep them short and they are not normal strength but much improved over before GHK-Cu.

CopperSignal27archiveFeb 26

Ended up with plenty of loose skin after dropping 79 kg so clearly did not use Glow in time to stop it, though I am glad to have the problem. Everything known about how the body works indicates peptides will not change this. The fibrous bands through the fat layer lengthened from long-term stretching. Any still under tension may shorten after weight loss but once lengthened they will not remodel. Local treatments might work in theory but even coverage would be difficult. If the peptides truly stimulated enough connective tissue growth to tighten skin all over the body I would worry about similar growth in organs like heart, lungs or kidneys leading to problems. Without a large clinical trial there is no real way to know if it worked.

WarmWillow50archiveFeb 26

Lost too much weight at my age so only surgery will remove the extra skin now. Spanx are permanent companions. Still take GHKcu because it helps overall skin quality and offers other benefits beyond looks. Will keep it around.

ClearBeacon24archiveFeb 26

The idea of organ growth does not seem right. Any research backing that? Only heard of high-dose hgh causing organ growth.

CopperSignal27archiveFeb 26

I said fibrous tissue growth in organs, not organ growth itself. If it stimulates fibrous tissue it would likely do so throughout the body. The blends are marketed for soft tissue injuries beyond just skin. Fibrous growth in heart muscle could lead to failure. So if it works as claimed it could be risky. Probably breaks down too fast to matter much anyway since there are no human or even animal studies on the blends.

That is splitting hairs. Any research supporting the theory or is it just a guess? Sounds like yelling fire in a theater.

Started peptides at 334 pounds and age 54. Taking KLOW daily and figure it cannot hurt. Do not expect to avoid sagging entirely but hope it reduces whatever ends up happening.

WarmLedger65archiveFeb 26

Hard to know whether skin would have stayed tighter with GHK-CU during the weight loss process. Still, it is inexpensive and might help reduce loose skin while offering other benefits, so worth trying. Using glow or klow with a GLP 1 and just ordered plain GHK-CU to use between klow cycles.

I have EDS too. Hoping for the nail improvement. They were decent until late 30s when ridges appeared.

No way GHKcu could reach the tips of the fingernails in two months.

↳ replying to @ClearBeacon24

Wish it could be weekly. Daily needles are tough for me, I am such a baby about it. Does it burn?

IronPebble47archiveMar 11
↳ replying to @PatientAlder89

Mine causes no burning at all though many others report it does. Not sure why the difference.

PatientAlder89archiveMar 11
↳ replying to @IronPebble47

Keep hearing it burns so not ready to try yet. Too bad because the reports sound really good.

IronPebble47archiveMar 11
↳ replying to @PatientAlder89

As I said mine does not burn so you could try it. Pens are also less intimidating and use thinner needles.

PatientAlder89archiveMar 11

Yes, pens are great. Really like mine.

60 years old. Lost 40 pounds on Tirz and now seeing loose skin on the neck. Started GHK-Cu. Accidentally used 1 mg daily at first instead of 0.5. Reconstituted and further diluted for an auto-pen, chose 32 ga 8 mm needles for deeper less painful delivery. No pain at all with abdominal subQ shots. Using cream on the face nightly after cleaning and micro-needling. Skin already feels better after four days of topical. Too soon for injectable results. The pen is convenient enough that I may switch the weekly Tirz to it as well. Note: avoid getting the auto-pen from common retail sites as other sources mentioned here are much cheaper.

I follow this protocol with good results: 100 mg vial in 3 ml, mix with 2.5 ml BAC water, dose 3 to 6 units once daily every day. Begin low and increase as needed.

BlueAlder28archiveMar 12
↳ replying to @ClearBeacon24

That is basically what I am doing except I diluted further for the auto-pen to reduce any sting. Seems to have worked since there is no discomfort injecting subQ in the abdomen. Are the numbers off? With 2.5 ml reconstitution 2.5 units would be 1 mg and 5 units 2 mg. I used 3 ml so mine differs slightly.

Another EDS person here. Nails not stronger after six weeks of KLOW and thumb ridges remain, but growth is much faster now. Wonder if they will be stronger once the new growth reaches the ends.

Been using botox in the platysmal bands. Lost 135 pounds and almost 48. The neck skin treatment has helped but will not last forever. Which topical are you getting good results from?

BlueAlder28archiveApr 17
↳ replying to @PatientHarbour23

This is the cream and roller I bought and am using. No special reason to prefer them over other options but results are satisfying. Applying after hot shower, scrub, and 0.2 mm roller on forehead, temples, under eyes, neck and chest. Unsure how much comes from the injectable peptide at 2 mg daily versus the cream.

PatientHarbour23archiveApr 17
↳ replying to @BlueAlder28

Thanks. Saw a few options through a source I cannot name but they are probably similar to regular commercial ones. Will check these out. Have several rollers but am not consistent with them. Also have lots of growth factor topicals and one contains copper though I do not know the concentration.

RustLantern55archiveApr 22
↳ replying to @LevelKettle25

Also have hEDS so have been cautious because faulty collagen cannot be repaired. Still hopeful. On ghkcu over a month and noticed better acne and complexion so that alone makes it worthwhile. Bpc has helped inflammation, neuropathy, tendonitis and a torn MCL so even if collagen is not fixed something positive is occurring.

SteadyMeadow70archiveApr 28
↳ replying to @BlueAlder28

Everything I have read says not to microneedle daily because skin needs recovery time or you cause more harm. Not sure if you meant daily though.

SteadyMeadow70archiveApr 28

Lost about 40 pounds while taking GHK-Cu most of the time yet skin is still saggy. Always had thin skin, cellulite even as a teen, and no stretch marks from pregnancies. Mid-40s probably contributes compared with being younger. Getting more serious about tightening with DIY approaches from Korean sources, microneedling, collagen-building products and mesotherapy. Still nervous about injections but once doing peptides more shots are not a big leap. No results yet as these are long-term efforts. Targeting stomach, thighs and arms. In about six months should know if it helped.

BlueAlder28archiveApr 28
↳ replying to @SteadyMeadow70

Had not heard about avoiding daily needling. Conveniently I usually shower only every other day so the scrub, needle and cream routine happens at most two or three times a week.

SteadyMeadow70archiveApr 28
↳ replying to @BlueAlder28

There is a whole microneedling reddit worth checking. Depth matters but at 0.2 mm it should not be more than once a week to allow healing and collagen building. Only nano needles can be used daily and those come with pens rather than rollers.

LevelCinder55archiveJun 21

Lost substantial weight before starting GHK-CU then GLOW. No skin tightening observed. Also tried massaging in various oils that claimed to help. Nothing has worked so far but have not quit. Still using the oils and GLOW every day.
