I need help with Tirz and Reta

Summary

How to add or switch to tirzepatide while on retatrutide for better hunger control and lower cost after major weight loss?

The original poster has dropped from 150 kg to 104 kg on 10 mg retatrutide but finds it expensive and insufficient for appetite suppression with almost no side effects. Replies suggest gradual transitions or adding low-dose tirzepatide rather than abrupt swaps, with options like starting at 9 mg reta plus 1 mg tirz and adjusting based on suppression needs. One post advises a maintenance phase first given the progress already achieved. Others share their own slower losses and encourage continued effort.

Hi all, started at 150 kg and now at 104 kg with 185 cm height. Currently on 10 mg retatrutide but it's becoming costly from a third world country and the hunger control isn't sufficient. Almost no side effects. Considering adding tirzepatide, perhaps at 5 mg reta and 5 mg tirz because 5 mg reta handles the glucagon part. What dose of tirz would you suggest, higher or lower?

Depends on how the doses are performing for you. How long have you been on reta? Seems like solid progress so far. Wouldn't switch 5 mg reta for 5 mg tirz right away. Could transition gradually and tweak doses over weeks to find a good stack. Or just add a small amount of tirz to existing reta for better hunger control. Figure out what suits you, no fixed method.

Your aims seem to be saving money and getting stronger appetite control. Tirz costs less and handles suppression better. Switch gradually like starting with 9 mg reta and 1 mg tirz for weeks, then 8 mg reta 2 mg tirz, and if suppression is adequate at 7 mg reta with 2 mg tirz. When reducing reta, don't raise tirz unless more suppression is required.

With no bad effects from 10 mg reta, try 2.5 mg tirz four or five days after the reta dose, then see how you feel on the usual reta day to decide if staying at 10 or dropping a mg or two, and adjust from there.

You've had excellent results dropping from 150 to 104 kg. Lots of folks push doses so high they don't nourish their body enough, leading to it holding onto weight. With your progress, take a maintenance dose and eat a little more to avoid rebound. After a couple months, add 2 mg tirzepatide to the maintenance every three days. Not a doctor, just from my years of experience with diets.

Great results!! Began at 151 kg back in May and now around 135-137 kg. Aiming under 120 kg feels unrealistic after being heavier than 130 kg for nearly 30 years...

That's 15-16 kg lost in about 4 months, quite an achievement! Might hit some plateaus but 130 kg is close... then 125 and 120!! You'll get past that long-term weight issue.
