Summary

how to stop diarrhea from tirzepatide without lowering the dose

People starting tirzepatide often see constipation at low doses that shifts to diarrhea after a few weeks at 5 mg or higher. Common fixes mentioned include splitting the weekly shot, adding fiber or gummies, taking loperamide when needed, drinking more water, and spacing injections every five days instead of seven. Most say the issue settles on its own or with these tweaks while keeping the appetite control they like.

Began at 2.5 mg and first noticed slowed bowel movements. Sorry for the plain language. Worked up to 5 mg weekly over six weeks. The first week felt fine, but the last two brought loose stools starting after two or three days. Besides dropping back to a safer amount, any other ideas? The hunger quieting effect is worth keeping so I want to stay on it.

Never ran into loose stools on tirz except the one time I took a bit too much Mag07.

Never dealt with that issue even when I reached 8.5 mg.

Bowel movements just vary, sometimes quick, sometimes slow, but the peptides make it helpful to keep things moving steadily.

Had the same on-and-off trouble early on. Changing what I ate did not seem to matter. Took two doses of loperamide and it cleared up. The problem faded after a while on its own. One tip though, never risk a fart on tirz or you might regret it.

Also got stopped up at the start. Drank more water and added 2-6 mg of gummy fiber each day until I found the right amount. Only get loose stools now if I eat something really greasy, which rarely happens anymore because my stomach pushes back.

Kratom tends to cause constipation so it has cut down on the diarrhea I was getting from tirz and sema. Imodium also takes the edge off sudden loose-stool episodes from these meds, though it is not a complete fix.

Someone mentioned splitting the weekly dose so the highest blood level stays lower. Seems like a straightforward way to ease side effects from tirz or similar peptides. Plenty of these workarounds probably exist because we can experiment in ways a clinic would not have time for. That is why I keep checking here.

Stayed backed up until I hit 7.5 mg this week. Then it really flushed me out, starting the second day after the shot but only for one day. Hopefully the loose stools settle once you get used to the new dose. Otherwise imodium is a reliable option.

For the moment I am keeping the dose under the level that caused trouble and splitting it into two shots per week. Not aiming for big weight loss, mainly just want to hold steady without the constant food thoughts and cravings that were an issue for both my wife and me.

Used to get bad loose stools on tirz and still have liquid movements often. Switching to every five days instead of raising the dose has made the side effects much easier to handle.

That sounds like it could be turned into a haiku.
