Why does liquid squirt out of the vial when pulling the needle and how do you stop it?

The squirting happens because the vial becomes over-pressurized, usually from pushing air in during draws or from not venting after reconstitution. Users fix it by venting the vial with an empty syringe or by leaving a needle in the stopper to equalize pressure. Once vented, draws go smoothly with no loss and fewer air bubbles. The same pressure issue can appear on first draws from a newly reconstituted vial if it was not vented.

I'm in the third week with Glow and something new has started that worries me a little. When the syringe is filled and I pull the needle out of the vial stopper, a bit of the peptide sprays out. That means I lose some liquid every time before I inject. I always follow the usual steps and it never happened at the start, only from this week onward. Has anyone run into the same thing and figured out how to stop it?

I'd guess the fluid leaks straight from the needle instead of passing the seal.

I always check that the syringe has no bubbles inside before removing the needle. I pause briefly while holding everything steady and sometimes push a little fluid back to clear any remaining air pockets. After that I draw up the exact amount required. It's tough to describe in words but it becomes simple after trying it a few times.

I flipped the container upside down right before removing the needle. It probably built up extra pressure from when I first inserted it.

That's not what's going on. After I pull the needle free a small drip appears from the container. Before giving the injection I would have spotted an incomplete syringe yet it looked full. The force inside must be squeezing a drop or two of the liquid through the puncture left behind.

Occasionally I notice a minuscule air pocket inside the injection tool and attempt to clear it using the approach mentioned by drawing extra fluid then forcing it outward again yet nothing changes. Whenever the pocket forms during that initial pull it simply remains in place no matter what.

Pressure built up inside the bottle from before so I let some escape first. Skipping the part about pushing gas back in for the opening tries at pulling liquid also worked fine.

Did you force any gas into the bottle ahead of drawing? An overload of pressure from that often leads to the exact issue.

I always force some air into the container ahead of pulling the solution. I preset the plunger to the correct volume prior to insertion. After injecting the air I withdraw the contents. There was a time when I neglected this initially resulting in the needle becoming obstructed so no fluid would enter and the plunger kept retracting leaving it vacant. So what do you think fellows is it preferable to stab the container while the syringe holds zero air?

A few times when some liquid escaped I made sure not to force any air inside afterward. During mixing did the vacuum draw the bacteriostatic water in by itself. It usually does. In most cases the plunger moved on its own without any help from me. The only exception happened with a small vial filled to capacity with the liquid. Using a smaller volume probably leaves some vacuum behind. I once read somewhere that withdrawing the plunger after mixing and then pushing it back in would equalize things, though I cannot recall the source or confirm if it works. I also have no idea how much vacuum forms from the cooling effect once the container goes into the refrigerator.

I vented the vial by removing the plunger from a syringe first then pushing the needle through the rubber seal so the pressures would match up.

Every time I prepare the solution in the bottle, venting comes first. I add the liquid, then retract the plunger to let air escape. This balances the internal pressure. Injecting air only happens when pulling out the remaining amount.

Would using nothing but the needle work out? I get it from the ordinary syringe for putting in the back water when I need to link things up once more.

True I sometimes extract the plunger following the addition of the solution while keeping the needle stuck inside the container.

With finer needles such as thirty one gauge the liquid enters slowly unlike wider options. I also think it's good to let air into the container. I keep some twenty five gauge ones around specifically to allow air in during mixing.

Liquid only leaks when the container sits both pressurized and inverted. Keeping it upright until the needle comes out avoids any spray. Letting out extra pressure prevents buildup. A lid once flew off my vial after I added way too much air.

Grateful for all the replies and suggestions. Looks like the trouble is almost certainly from skipping the pressure release on the bottle after mixing. Totally overlooked that part and it was a beginner error. Planning to sort it before the injection later today.

Appreciate all the replies. I equalized pressure in the container this morning and things went perfectly with nothing spilled. It also cleared out the air pocket from the syringe.

This week I tried the gray stuff for the very first time, and it looks like I'm running into the same problems pulling out my amount. When it comes to releasing pressure, do you keep the extra needle stuck in the top while pulling the liquid, or just wait a minute for it to breathe first?

I'm trying to fill a syringe for an injection. So far I've faced some problems, probably because I'm not skilled enough yet. Up until now I had only used the prescribed medication with its disposable pen device. Initially I drew in air matching my amount into the needle, but inserting it into the container made the air get pulled in immediately. After that, attempting to extract the liquid caused it to be drawn back into the container repeatedly. On my next attempt I believed I had the right amount but upon inspection it turned out to be nothing but empty space. For the following effort I allowed some pressure release and succeeded in getting the liquid, yet an annoying pocket of gas remained that I couldn't remove, so it ended up in the syringe too.

I skip venting the vial ahead of time when pulling liquid. For a six milligram dose I move the plunger back to the sixty unit line, push the needle through the top, press it down, and then draw the solution.

I attempted that approach initially, and the container pulled the liquid inside without any force from me on the syringe. It continued to take in extra while I tried to measure the amount. I hope the opening from yesterday balanced things out so I get the right volume now. Getting better with repetition. Appreciate the suggestions!

I've come across something quite odd recently. Apparently there's a container holding freeze-dried peptide powder that was mixed with bacteriostatic water, perhaps around three milliliters. Yet when attempting to extract a small amount like twelve units for an injection, the container still seems to have negative pressure inside. This persists even if air is introduced beforehand. During the initial mixing phase, the vacuum does pull the liquid inside, and I sometimes tilt the needle to let the fluid run down the side, which swirls the powder nicely as it dissolves. However, after the bacteriostatic water has been added to the container, that suction effect disappears in my experience.

This was the first vial I had ever used. Mixing the substance proceeded without any problems as the water was drawn inside smoothly and everything appeared fine afterward. Upon attempting to pull out my portion, I pushed forty units of air which immediately entered the vial, and resistance appeared when trying to extract the liquid. By mistake I released the plunger, sending all the material back inside the container. Needless to say, this left me quite puzzled. In the end I vented the vial which balanced the internal pressure. The injection I took yesterday went without incident.
