Tesamorelin and Joint Pain - Experience?

8 replies4 peopleJun 10, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Does Tesamorelin cause joint pain from water retention and how do users manage it with other peptides like Reta?

Users starting Tesamorelin at low doses while already on Reta-Cagri report no joint pain when titrating slowly. One gained 1-1.5 lbs attributed to fluid but saw no pain after a week; another avoided water retention entirely and noted midsection fat loss with nightly use on a month-on month-off schedule. Sleep improvements were mentioned but not clearly tied to Tesamorelin. Most plan short cycles and monitor weight trends.

How long any fluid retention actually lasts and whether it affects joints long-term

Nothing here is advice.

Planning to begin Tesamorelin this evening while already using Reta-Cagri. Has a badly torn meniscus and knee osteoarthritis. Concerned about reports linking Tesamorelin to joint pain from initial water retention and swelling that lasts around three weeks. Also hoping for better sleep. Searched the forum without finding relevant threads. Asking others if they had painful joints and how long it lasted. Will start at 0.5 mg to test. Joking that if pain hits tomorrow people should reply they warned about it.

Using 1 mg Tesa each morning for the past week along with 300 mcg Ipa. Also on 3 mg Reta for several months. Sleep was rough at first with Reta but seems to be improving with only brief wake-ups. Unsure if Tesa helps or if it's just adaptation. No joint pain noticed yet. Gained 1-1.5 lbs since starting Tesa and thinks it might be water retention.

Thanks for the details. One gallon of water is roughly eight pounds so 1.5 pounds would be several cups of fluid. Worried that much could affect the knees even if not all of it settles there. Asking how long the extra weight stuck around, hoping it was only a day.

No clear answers yet since only a week in and still tracking changes. Before this had been dropping about a pound weekly. Will see if that continues over the next week or two. Planning an eight-week run then stopping for travel and retesting IGF-1 to check if fluids decrease afterward.

How did the Tesa go for you? Just ordered some and feeling nervous about trying it.

It worked well. Avoided any water gain by increasing the dose very slowly. It did reduce midsection fat as intended. Using it at night on a month on then month off schedule.

That's the outcome I'm looking for. Always use the smallest amount and was cautious about adding something new but will try it once it arrives.

Sounds like you're still using 500 mcg?

Make sure to obtain the COA and filter the product too. Used to accept anything over 99% purity but now filters everything. Still at 500 mcg.
