When to throw out BAC water?

20 replies14 peopleJul 23, 2026β˜† Follow
Summary

How long do people keep bacteriostatic water after the first puncture and how do they store it?

Forum members report a wide range of personal practices, from discarding at 30 days to using the vial until empty if the liquid stays clear. Some refrigerate after opening to slow potential growth and reach 90 days, while others leave it at room temperature. A few reference official 28- or 30-day guidance but note that many extend beyond it without apparent issues. Storage location and total time in use vary based on individual comfort rather than a single shared rule.

Hi all. Even though folks here don't suggest relying on AI for these details, I checked with one anyway and got a response of twenty-eight days for discarding bacteriostatic water once punctured. Yet another person mentioned holding onto it for three months. Now I'm wondering about the practices others follow. What duration do you usually store opened bac water prior to discarding? And after opening, do you leave it out or put it in the fridge?

I just leave the container sitting out under normal indoor conditions until nothing is left inside. That period tends to last me a couple months.

I've noticed this subject came up in older threads after I checked around. Everyone appears to approach it in their own manner.

You're correct about that. Normally I always look things up prior to making a post. Previously I checked and didn't locate a specific discussion, yet I came across one from the day before which contains excellent details. Appreciate it.

My approach relies on overlapping circles to track decisions about the container. I check whether any liquid remains inside. An affirmative answer means holding onto it instead of discarding. Repeating the check, a negative response finally leads me to toss it out.

I usually figure a full month is the cautious choice, yet I chill mine anyway and stretch it out to three months total. The fridge's low temperature seems to cut down how quickly any microbes can develop.

My container sits tucked away inside the cabinet out in the laundry area, and I finish every bit until nothing is left either.

Those two visuals strike me as identical. My lack of formal training means the gaps show up clearly around 2 in the morning with fellow enthusiasts still online. πŸ™‚ πŸ‘ 😎

I keep going with it right down to the last drop no matter the maker. If the liquid stays transparent then I figure mine is still fine.

SharpTimber80archiveJul 24

After three months with one of these I get rid of it. At that point there's generally nothing left anyway.

It would probably work better shown as a diagram with the steps laid out.

Your comment cracks me up since I recently chose to restart this activity after sorting my belongings, so I'm definitely keeping the item.

I picked up the full tray for around eighty dollars back when peptides weren't popular yet, lol

WarmCompass44archiveJul 24

If im using generic BAC which means im desperate 30 days. The common brand, until it runs out.
