How are you all taking adamax?

13 replies9 peopleApr 14, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

What is the best way to take Adamax and how does it compare to related peptides like NA-Semax?

Users discuss nasal versus subcutaneous administration, with some preferring nasal for potential brain delivery via the olfactory nerve while others note Adamax's chemical modifications may allow effective subQ use. Experiences suggest similar effects to NA-Semax Amidate but at higher cost, leading most to favor the cheaper option unless prices drop. Limited research on Adamax itself is highlighted, along with questions about its origins and testing standards compared to Semax variants.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether nasal or subQ is superior for Adamax, and whether the higher price justifies any perceived benefits over NA-Semax.

Still open

How well Adamax actually crosses the blood-brain barrier in humans and the reliability of its sourcing or testing standards.

Nothing here is advice.

From what I've seen in my own reading, nasal spray seems to be the favored way to take Adamax, though subQ is another option that some try even if it's considered less ideal. How well does that match up with actual experiences people have had?

AmberMeadow54archiveApr 14

The thinking seems to be that subQ might not get past the blood brain barrier as well, while nasal can reach the brain along the olfactory nerve. So nasal is my choice too, even if it could just be placebo.

CopperAlder51archiveApr 14

The added chain on Adamax lets it get through the BBB whether you go subQ or nasal. One reference source suggests subQ and doesn't even list a nasal protocol, though I know some people still use it that way. I've got some ready and plan to start with subQ. If it turns out to be as strong as claimed, I might stay with that and skip nasal entirely.

Sounds good, I'm looking forward to trying some when it shows up later this week. Hopefully it will give a lift to my catecholamine and dopamine systems to help with depression and ADD. Thanks for the details.

It's odd they push nasal for semax though.

Please keep us updated. I'm considering trying Adamax myself.

I'm doubtful about how well peptides actually reach the brain through the olfactory nerve. Most studies are in rodents where the distance is tiny. In people it's much farther, which makes passive diffusion along that narrow path unlikely. Measuring brain levels is also harder in humans since they don't usually agree to direct testing. Some nasal dose gets absorbed into blood through the nasal passages anyway, and anything swallowed would likely break down in the stomach. Adamax has specific modifications to improve BBB crossing and half-life over the semax it's based on. Sadly there's almost no actual research on adamax.

Adamax came about differently from Semax, which could explain why there aren't many studies on it. It was created more recently by a private group aiming to fix two issues with an earlier version: better resistance to breakdown in the blood and improved ability to enter the brain by making it more fat-soluble. The name comes from adding an adamantane group to the base structure.

There's a detailed write-up on Adamax worth reading. Anyone thinking about getting some should check the differences it points out.

I take it you mean that two-part piece. It covers testing standards in an interesting way. Edit: looks like someone didn't want the author's name mentioned here.

Where does NA Semax Amidate rank in comparison?

Adamax is strongest, then NA Semax Amidate, then plain Semax. You'll usually only see the amidate version of NA Semax, since making it without that addition wouldn't make much sense and I've never come across it. Still, it could exist, so checking the actual Dalton weight is a good way to confirm what you have. The weights are Semax at 813.9, N-Acetyl Semax at 854.98, N-Acetyl Semax Amidate at 855.96, and Adamax at 1032.2 in the right form.

If what I got was real, I didn't see a strong reason to choose Adamax over NA-Semax. The effects felt similar and the NA version costs less. I used the NA version nasally and that route worked better for me than subQ.

My experience lines up with that. It feels a bit more energizing and helps focus a little more than NA Semax Amidate, but the price difference is big. I can get a whole kit of NA Semax for what three single Adamax vials cost. If it ever drops even to twice the price, I'd switch, but until then NA is the way to go.
