What preworkout do you take?

Summary

what preworkout supplements or alternatives do lifters actually use and why

people describe a wide range of simple and commercial options for heavy lifting sessions. many stick to basic caffeine sources or skip stims entirely to protect sleep, while others combine a few ingredients like citrulline or baking soda. brand-specific recommendations appear but get generalized once names are stripped out.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

whether a dedicated preworkout drink is worth it versus keeping things minimal or skipping entirely

Nothing here is advice.

My usual habit has been to grab a quick energy boost then add creatine once the session wraps up. Reading around a bit shows some support for mixing in a product that has l-citrulline and beta alanine together with the caffeine so I could squeeze out extra work during training. Blends sometimes put the creatine in as well and comments also point to l-theanine or ALCAR as things that might add value. Checking into any of this quickly leads to promotions filling every screen. A handful of products from different makers look worth checking out. Curious what others actually use or skip entirely especially when the focus stays on heavy sessions.

I mix bicarbonate of soda with that amino acid, some table salt, plain liquid, and occasionally a stimulant. I prefer minimal ingredients overall. I raise the bicarbonate level bit by bit or else I end up with loose bowels.

I swallow a 200mg caffeine tablet the moment I rise from bed and it usually kickstarts my system without leaving me bloated or giving off that weird flavor from workout powders.

I like these drinks for their modest stimulant effect from 112 milligrams of caffeine together with citicoline as they help energize me in the morning. Because of the modest stimulant effect I can consume two each day if it becomes necessary. Their taste is nice particularly the root beer flavor. I am also using another compound at the moment.

I grab whatever sits on the shelves at a nutrition retailer that packs over two hundred milligrams of caffeine plus a dose of citrulline, often the kind that stretches further for the money by scanning the component list and skipping anything with flashy containers.

water with some carb mix.

I grab a cup of joe, or on occasion a boost drink paired with some produce.

Usually after finishing work I head to the fitness facility near five o'clock. An energizer before then would ruin my lousy slumber so instead I rest briefly inside the vehicle for around a quarter to half hour. But if training happens earlier than three I would choose some liquid containing two hundred milligrams or more of the stimulant.

a few energy drinks through the day for work, end of dayz - some preworkout before gym

Used up the whole container of that pre workout mix by taking one portion each time along with five grams of added creatine. Deciding to change to something else merely to see what it's like.
