weight loss progress and experiences after starting Tirz then adding Reta

One user reports dropping exactly 50 pounds over 150 days on Tirz with Reta added later, moving from 242.4 to 192.4 without the usual all-consuming effort. Others share similar histories of yo-yo cycles that these medications appear to interrupt, allowing focus on other life areas like teaching and parenting. Several note the ease compared to prior attempts and express intent to stay on the meds long-term for maintenance.

Started Tirz back on January 23 2026. Never knew the true starting weight but hit 242.4 by February 15. Now at 150 days total with Reta added in April the scale shows 192.4 for a straight 50 pound loss. I've always been a pro at both gaining and losing weight but the gaining came without effort while losing demanded total concentration and pushed everything else aside. These GLP meds keep it from taking over my mind or wearing me out physically and mentally. Taking the kid to the water park later and plan to just drift on the lazy river.

That comparison really nails it about being a professional at both sides of the weight game and how easy the gaining always felt.

Folks who just pack on a couple pounds a year without noticing always surprise me. As a teacher I could easily add 30 to 40 pounds during the school year then use summer to chase ten pounds off each month in a cycle that never ended. Glad to have something that lets me drop weight through the school year without obsessing so I end up being a better teacher and mom and everything else since my attention isn't locked on the scale all the time.

Wow really happy for you. I also put on weight while teaching and my psychiatrist said it was my good mother side showing up. Worked on changing how I pictured that good mother idea which seems tied to old collective images.

Congrats on the big win. Hope my own results turn out just as strong.

From where I sit as someone in perimenopause I figure your results could end up even stronger.

SteadyTimber49archiveJun 22

That's really great news. Hope this finally breaks the old up and down pattern for good.

Nice work. I've fought the same back and forth for years with the gain lose repeat loop. These GLP meds feel like a real breakthrough.

Solid progress. Used Reta to drop 70 pounds that came from Prednisone. Hit my target athletic weight then lowered the dose and the scale started creeping back up even with no diet changes. Might need to stay on it just to hold steady. Pred really is tough to deal with.

Yeah I have zero plans to stop these or any improved versions later. I'm one of those people who looks metabolically fine on paper but clearly wasn't from the inside.

PlainAlder11archiveJun 22

That result is impressive.

Absolutely right on.

My wife says I'm hitting manopause which lines up with her peri stage so this should be an interesting ride together.

Rooting for you on this.

Well done. You must be feeling great right now.

Yes overall but those old tailored breeches from around 2012 that I pulled out today still need another 15 pounds gone. Same with the rhinestone miss me jeans.

Yes get after it. Glad this approach made things simpler and the results are solid. Your old monthly ten pound drops were already strong but now without the constant mental drain. Also good to see fellow teachers here. On summer break myself and trying to replace the steps I normally get at school since I'm more of a homebody and it's too hot out. Might need to set up the old NordicTrak indoors. Everyone stay safe in the heat.

Really happy this worked out so well for you. Solid achievement.
