Hi there! I just put in my order and feel pretty pumped about it. Been checking out clips and going through some writeups to get ready, so here is the collection of items I came up with: a freeze-dried container of Tz, alcohol pads or a spray plus tissues, three-milliliter locking syringes, inch-and-a-half locking needles that reach the base of an upright vial, a sterile empty three-milliliter glass container, bacteriostatic water, small PES filters rated at point two two microns, a bin for used sharps, and maybe some exam gloves.

I do not spot any vent needles in that group. What search terms would bring them up when ordering? Also, how many of the locking syringes and needles should I grab for the mixing part? I already have the thin ones for the actual shots. On the filters, how many do you think I should order? One for every three-milliliter bottle? I will go through roughly thirty milligrams in two or three milliliters each month, so I can run the whole amount through the filter in a single session and only do that once every thirty days.

I use 5/8 inch luer lock needles for drawing bacteriostatic water, reconstitution, and venting. I follow the steps shown in this video.

I picked up some half inch lockable needles without any syringe and used them to release air from the fresh sterile container during filtering.

It is really whatever you have access to. If you use pens then a pen needle works fine to vent. Otherwise just use a fresh reconstitution needle.

I'm puzzled about the reason for adding that mesh to the opening. It looks unnecessary to me, yet the clip was useful.

You do not need to filter the vent. On the 1.5 inch needles I get 23 gauge because it makes it easier to draw the reconstituted material out. I bought all my reconstitution and filtering supplies on Amazon. No need to spend extra on premium items. I saved a list for reference. How many of you are actually filtering? Some people make their own pens but I cannot see the advantage. For daily injections the pen is easier and faster. For weekly injections like these the pens are still quicker but since you use them so rarely it may not matter much.

Sure, I didn't feel like adding a filter to the vent needle was necessary. Air flows outward through it anyway, and the volume is tiny compared to what enters during a purge. I order plenty of supplies online as well. The needles arrive in separate packaging and seem clean enough without further checks. I also get my injection syringes from the same spot.

As he mentioned it is optional. It just makes sure any air drawn in will be filtered.

I spotted what looks like trouble around the expression coring so figured I would share this reading on how vials can shatter into fragments along with that process being preventable from a research archive and a video clip covering it.

Same on the wrapped syringes. I also get 5 ml luer lock versions. They will not ship certain brands here. You are using the 5/8 inch needles? I use the 5/16 inch 8 mm half and one ml sizes. Check the link.

I have been thinking about this too. There is no such thing as a special vent needle, correct? It is just a regular needle that is used for venting. I believe on that same video he says he uses 27 gauge. Does that sound right?

I learned that certain needles get made just for releasing pressure in transfers like this. Choosing one that's oversized can punch out pieces of the stopper while an undersized version tends to clog up fast. Online lookups suggested gauges from 21 through 25 handle the job best.

Rather than relying on a dedicated vent needle I first draw back the plunger to match the fluid amount with air then push that into the water vial before pulling out the liquid to keep pressure even. After that I put the needle into the peptide container and suck out half a milliliter of air then switch between adding liquid and removing air in small equal steps until the move is done. Before pulling the needle I let the plunger rest on its own and if any empty space shows up I fill it first so the container stays balanced.

Grateful for the info! As far as the needles go the maker isn't a huge concern but a trusted filter together with the bottles seems preferred am I getting that right?

For venting I just grab inexpensive ones. Someone gave me a huge stack of insulin syringes so I pop the plunger and repurpose those. No point adding a filter to the vent. On mixing I agree that longer needles work better since they reach the bottom and let you recover everything. For clearing the filter there are a few ways to handle it. Skip the step and accept losing some liquid depending on filter size, push air through to recover part of it, or sacrifice another syringe to run extra water and flush most of the remaining material. I have never tried the smallest filters myself but opinions vary on whether they handle a full three-milliliter mix without issues, though many say they manage fine. One extra step that might cut down on waste is soaking the filter first with some liquid before the main pass. I do that using one of the free syringes I already mentioned.

Appreciate the details provided. Watched a clip showing someone using extra bad to rinse away remnants. Purchased the 4 MM and also the 13 mm filters, intending to extract more BAC last. About Tz, curious which one works better. Going to research it myself.

It is less about the specific peptide and more about the amount you are filtering. From what I have seen if you are doing 1 ml or less then 4 mm is better because less gets trapped in the filter. I usually do 2 or 3 ml since all I have are 13 mm filters.

Yes. I use 13 mm filters. For vent needles I have some cheap Amazon luer lock 1 inch 23 gauge needles and 1 ml luer lock syringes for flushing the filter. I just preload with bacteriostatic water to flush. Some just use air to flush.

I enjoy putting a filter on the air vent needle too. It seems logical since I'm already cleaning out all the other materials entering my vial, which happens to be a cartridge in my case. Why not reduce the tiny particles like bacteria or spores that come from ordinary household air as much as possible. Doing this in a sterile environment would be different, yet here I am working from the kitchen instead.

This is what I use to vent. 29 gauge half inch luer lock needles. Just the screw on tops without the plunger.

That point bears repeating because dust in the air has lots of Pseudomonas. Those PTFE filters are good at dealing with it and you can clean them with an alcohol swab to use them again and again.

A face covering cuts down on particles getting into the mix while I'm putting the solution together. It's inexpensive and straightforward, and by now the habit feels normal. I skip it when actually injecting unless the alcohol wipes trigger a sneeze, which happens to me. Gloves aren't mandatory, yet if I put them on I wipe them down with sanitizer first. Some routines stopped recommending them a couple of years back because people lose track of every surface their hands brush against. Little motions like rubbing an itch, shifting a seat, or grabbing something that never got wiped can slip by unnoticed when you're on your own. Bare hands make those slips more obvious, and washing up again only takes half a minute once you know how the gel with aloe feels. Drafts from open windows, moving air, or the AC unit add another risk I try to limit. Since I shed arm and scalp hair easily I pull on long sleeves and something over my head. The kitchen scrap bucket with used coffee also brings in mold spores that grow fast in damp grounds. After watching two friends accidentally swap bottles and splash acid during a mix-up I started wearing eye protection every time. Getting even a little of the preservative liquid in your eye is something I'd rather avoid.

I've been weighing the options for a suitable space and concluded that my grown daughter's old room stands out as the top choice. The issue is the carpeted floor, so I'll keep an air purifier running and clean my setup area with alcohol. The mask and hair covering idea appeals to me as well. My only other workable spot would be the bathroom since it has hard floors and gets little use, but it's still a bathroom, which rules it out.

A well known brand has 13 mm PES 0.22 um filters in larger packs. Solid brand that keeps me filtered for almost a year since I am the reconstitutor for a handful of people.

Following up on what I said before, those 4mm ones weren't available then. The bigger 13mm versions show up more often and look simpler to locate. Having extra choices plus packs with fewer units works well for me. I go through roughly a hundred each year.

I like this and gloves can be a pain. I will just use them for dirty stuff like cleaning smokers and griddles or changing the oil on my vehicles.

I own these particular models and wore them during scouting operations as well as firing range sessions. Attaching them proves simple for me. The large version suits my needs.

The smaller filter size means the flow will take longer and you might notice some pushback when moving the liquid. Using a vent needle could ease that pressure somewhat. Take your time because forcing it too hard might cause the filter to fail just like in that demonstration. When it feels stuck stop for a moment before continuing. That's how you get the hang of it. The reason this size works well is how little solution gets trapped inside due to the tiny contact area which matters a lot when dealing with tiny amounts of liquid. But it does require more effort to push through and thick mixtures can block it fast. That clip showed a test with a thick starch blend. I found it helpful to practice a few times using just plain water once everything is set up so I could get used to it without risking any of my actual material.

I'm unsure if this method is correct, yet I place a small syringe needle into the container while the mixed liquid and filtering device are already there. Pushing the solution slowly via the filter into the bottle causes the syringe's plunger to move upward on its own. Now and then I give it a light assist to balance the internal air pressure. Once fully extended I remove the needle, push the plunger back down to reset it, and insert again.

Why waste a syringe with a plunger. A box of cheap 100 23 gauge 1 inch luer lock needles only is inexpensive from Amazon. They have other sizes too.

That needle size looks enormous and pressing the syringe down blocks any return flow into the container. All I'm doing is releasing pressure outward with nothing unclean getting inside.

That approach isn't familiar to me at all, plus none of the videos I checked showed any plunger on the syringe. Since air isn't an issue for me, the vent needle stays unfiltered. People can choose their methods, and I'll continue using what I've been doing.
