I'm new to this and want to grab just a handful of filters at first. I'm hoping to find a good option that won't add much to my starting expenses while I gather everything else I need.

Recently I searched around but couldn't locate the optimal low-cost option. At least not in my searches. After getting a poor quality fake item from that big online store lately I've become skeptical of it. It appears most products purchased from there turn out fake. Various sources for these items charge quite a bit for limited amounts. I located an economical option involving certain filters requiring purchase of a large pack. Maybe split with some buddies?

I spotted smaller quantities listed but delivery still adds cost. A hundred pack would be too many for my needs. Breaking up the order seems better. I don't know anyone nearby so mailing would be necessary from one side or the other. I also need to keep the luer lock syringe in mind.

It really comes down to the quantity being processed through the filter. Producers assign ratings to various diameters according to the total volume they can handle. The smallest ones suit up to a single milliliter while medium sizes cover from just over that up to ten milliliters and the biggest handle anything above ten. Using an air flush leaves roughly 1.6 iu retained in the medium version.

The little filters call for extra waiting time. Bigger ones clear out using just two tenths of a milliliter rinse. I begin with six tenths then follow up with a second rinse of six tenths to reach one full milliliter of the mix.

That approach seems really solid to me. I enjoy it quite a bit. It appears far more logical than rinsing out with a tiny bit of liquid since whatever stays behind will surely be that liquid at the end. Many thanks.

I'm trying to confirm my understanding since it's a bit unclear to me. With a total reconstitution volume of three milliliters, would the process be to use half for the initial mix, filter it, and then add the other half to make the complete three?

Although this isn't coming from the tagged individual, in the situation you outlined the initial step involves dissolving using 1.6 milliliters followed by filtration, then introducing 1.6 milliliters more of bacteriostatic water alone and filtering that as well. The remaining 0.2 milliliters captured by the filter would contain only bacteriostatic water together with any bacteria or particles present.

I agree that's a solid approach for handling the leftover portion. I divide the holdback volume between mixing into the dried powder container and rinsing the fresh vial OR mix the target total volume straight into the powder container, run it through the filter, then rinse afterward with 0.2ml to recover any peptide left behind. The bigger filter ends up needing that exact rinse volume. I can send the extra amount through at whatever stage works. Along the same lines, the smaller filter only needs 0.07ml for its rinse. That minor difference is one more reason I skip the smaller filter. LOL

I still do my own checks regardless. Outside lab results coming back fine doesn't change my mind. It adds almost no time since the substances are loaded into the injector pens in any case.

I agree with that approach. Whenever transferring the substance into a fresh container, I always attach a filter to it. For most items I go with a 4mm one, except when dealing with KLOW. Losing half a milligram or so to the residue doesn't concern me since I have plenty left over.

There's almost no expense involved, maybe just a couple cents caught in the mesh. I force myself past any hesitation since figuring out the details would require way too many calculations and I already deal with numbers constantly at work. First thing in the morning while standing around in the kitchen all I feel like doing is cleaning, pulling, and sticking. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Let me explain my earlier comment better. That big site overflows with fakes yet remains the main place people turn for parts to repair something outside normal distribution channels. The earlier contamination issue led me to begin screening sources more carefully. How can anyone assume the copies from there are any safer? It feels pointless like adding dark layers hoping the space ends up lighter.

No it doesn't damage anything and yes I always run mine through a filter however mixing twelve milligrams of the sterile water with seventy eight milligrams of the copper peptide creates quite a volume which exceeds what a tiny four millimeter one can handle therefore I switch to the thirteen millimeter size instead.

I'm wondering if anybody knows a clip that covers the simple steps for filtering. Plenty of those seem to exist online, and based on what I've seen with clips about mixing substances back up, only a few turn out accurate while the rest have issues.

These days I filter all my stuff. Back then at the start of looking things up I didn't bother, but after trying several times it gets easy. The 4 mm ones I bought online had decent quality. For the 13 mm I used another place to order.

Surprising to hear. From the photos I've checked out, each filter comes in its own wrapper with sterile printed right on it.

Oops, I got that wrong and was talking about the cartridges instead. I've already fixed my earlier message. Those filters mention being sterile on the label, yet the cartridges I also require don't include that information.

I usually try to stay away from those carts since there are plenty of reports about leaks happening with them. The only two tests on multiple brands that I know about both found one of them to be sterile after checking numerous units. This explains why quite a few individuals choose to sterilize them once more in a pressure cooker.

Others handle this instead of me. They take out the closure using either a vacuum container attached to a sealing machine or by opening the container and employing small printed tools for extraction. After that they place everything in a fresh pouch for a sterilization run in the cooker followed by drying in the oven. I mentioned the possibility of washing them using sterile injectable water yet not everyone finds that appealing.

I recall seeing a mention that people place sealed containers straight into a pressure cooker to heat them thoroughly over quite a while. A few closures might come loose yet it remains workable to fit them into the cartridge while keeping the sterile wrapping intact.

I see a problem with that approach because there's no way to tell exactly when in the process the plug came loose, leaving the steam exposure time inside unknown. Plus not every one releases so that's the reason I prefer the vacuum sealing way instead.

I hadn't known the lids must lift before sterilization succeeds. My assumption was the temperature plus force alone could reach inside the container. Appreciate the notice. I've heard some people try ultraviolet rays instead. How do you feel regarding this approach?

My curiosity kicked in after a contamination problem with a particular item. Reading about manufacturers marking sterility indicators with ordinary black ink rather than ones that actually change color left me more worried than before. I considered picking up a used sterilizer from old dental offices since they go for low prices secondhand, plus setting up a clean airflow bench and similar gear. Research showed me that heat and duration do the actual work, while moisture only speeds things along. Stoppers staying in place does not signal trouble. Ultraviolet rays also fail to pass through wrappers properly, so they fall short for disinfecting things like syringes, containers, cartridges, or membranes. Eventually I dropped the whole plan and chose to order those parts from reliable sources instead.

Yeah, I thought the same way. Placing them in the cooker at full power for two hours seems okay when the caps don't come loose. I feel the same about getting products from reliable places. I use my time to locate such places over concerning myself with other issues. Nothing is ever completely certain.

Got hold of a sterilizer unit from a vet who was stepping down. When I processed the items using the original packaging that arrived with them, just a couple showed the right color shift. So I picked up some branded pouches along with tape and loose indicators for checking. Those all performed correctly. Feels good skipping the whole "believe me it's done" thing from the sellers.

Small filters are excellent. You can easily push several mL through them. I filter reconstituted and then flush with a bit more. Or smaller reconstituted and flush with more. Fantastic product. Larger filters are great for making bigger recons.

Steam cuts both the heat level and duration required. Moisture based sterilization works around 120 degrees for a quarter to half an hour. Dry methods call for 170 degrees across two full hours instead. The materials in the plug and flexible seal on the container could degrade if kept that hot over such a long stretch. Those parts are built to handle moisture sterilization only up to 130 degrees. Cookers of this kind stop at 121 degrees.
