Even so, since the product is easy to obtain locally at low cost, a batch is already on the way.

It is straightforward to obtain in the US. I have thought about switching to a sterile water option but was told any vial would then need to be finished within two weeks, which may not fit my schedule.

From the same interview, the expert confirms sterile water works and the reconstituted material stays fine in the fridge for 28 days. He suggests using a named sterile water or saline product for a month and even mentions eight weeks as acceptable though he cannot officially recommend it for liability reasons. Using plain sterile water for dilution means a non-zero contamination risk if the vial will be accessed more than once. Even in hospital clean rooms single-use vials are never kept beyond one shift. Bacteriostatic water at least lowers that risk. The lab source may be focused more on peptide stability than user safety, and few people here work in a proper clean room. Safety comes first.
