Those who have used GHK-CU, what results have you genuinely had?

Summary

What actual effects have users noticed from GHK-Cu on skin, hair, and healing?

Users consistently report softer, plumper, and firmer skin along with faster healing of wounds, rashes, and acne after one to six months of daily injections around 1-3 mg. Hair changes are more variable, with some noting reduced shedding, slightly thicker or darker strands, and quicker growth while others see no difference in density or loss. Topical AHK-Cu is repeatedly suggested as a more targeted option for scalp application than injectable GHK-Cu. A few mention tougher skin making injections harder and occasional welts or bruising.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether GHK-Cu meaningfully thickens or regrows hair versus simply slowing loss, and whether AHK-Cu should be used alongside or instead of GHK-Cu.

Still open

Optimal long-term dosing, zinc monitoring needs, and how much benefit comes from GHK-Cu alone versus combined routines with topicals or other peptides.

Nothing here is advice.

First post here beyond the intro section. For anyone who has used GHK-CU, what changes did you actually notice? I'm starting a cycle soon because my hair is thinning at 21 and my hairline is moving back a bit. I've read claims of thickening and regrowth but want honest accounts before I begin.

For hair, AHK-CU applied to the skin works better.

IronLantern24archiveJul 23

I've seen small improvements such as smoother skin under the eyes and less sagging. Recently the two gray chin hairs I always get came in black instead. Only a few months in so nothing clear yet on scalp hair, but I seem to shed less in the shower and haven't had to clear the drain for over two months.

Can you explain more? Why is that one better, and did I throw away money getting the other version?

AHK-Cu is a lab-made copper peptide made to focus on hair follicles. It supports growth, improves scalp circulation, extends the growth phase, and helps limit DHT damage. Both versions deliver copper but have different structures and uses. The first is mainly for overall skin renewal while this one targets hair and scalp more directly.

Could I run both together? What amount of the first one would help with thickening while I'm thinning? Where would I inject the second one, into the scalp? Should I also inject the first one there?

GreenMeadow27archiveJul 23

The second one is meant to be used on the skin surface. You mix it into a serum and rub it onto your scalp.

Started at 2 mg each day but raised it to 3 mg recently.

PatientFenwick91archiveJul 23

Used 2 mg daily in a blend for four months and haven't seen changes yet. Still planning to continue since people say six months is needed. Hoping for hair improvement after losing a lot while on another compound. Waiting on a topical version of the hair-focused peptide and also ordered an injectable form of it to test.

When I lost weight quickly before, hair came out but grew back fast once calories were steady again. Same thing happened to my mom. Probably a common side effect of rapid loss. For the original poster, I feel like my hair has thickened and skin plumped, though summer sun and added collagen might also play a role.

PatientFenwick91archiveJul 23
↳ replying to @AmberSignal47

I didn't drop any weight on that compound, so no calorie deficit was involved.

PatientMeadow74archiveJul 23

I've had solid results with daily subcutaneous use plus a skin serum. Skin feels fuller and more moisturized, and I've received compliments on the glow. Needles are now harder to push through. Hair grows faster and a bit darker, but the amount I lose hasn't changed and it hasn't become thicker.

BrightSparrow36archiveJul 23

I'm 46 and have combined it with another peptide for about two months. Skin is softer everywhere. Areas around the eyes, neck, and chest are firmer, thicker, and less crepey. The chest area also seems less likely to burn in the sun.

CopperSignal91archiveJul 23

My wife is on month two at 2 mg plus 500 mcg of the other peptide. Her skin looks smoother to me and others have noticed too. Hair seems a little thicker. Planning to raise the dose to 3 mg next week. From what I've read, three months is when changes become most obvious.

PlainSignal90archiveJul 23

After a couple months at 2 mg daily the skin all over feels much softer. Up close the texture looks plumper and more flexible. It's also thicker so needles take more effort to insert. There's a faint golden tone now that suits my fair olive complexion. No hair changes yet. At 56 I might take a month off later just to avoid the bruises that show up a couple times a week.

IronThistle80archiveJul 23

Following this thread closely because I'm thinking about adding one of the blends to my stack in a couple weeks.

ClearAnchor99archiveJul 23

Pinning 2 mg daily for about six weeks. I'm doubtful about most things but not this. Within a week the dry skin on my lower legs stopped being painfully itchy and regained some color instead of staying chalky white. Psoriasis on my scalp has almost completely healed, so the pain and bleeding from picking at it are gone. I'll keep using it for the quality-of-life improvement.

I'm down over 30 since late January with roughly a 500-calorie daily deficit and my hair is thicker now. Just when I think I understand the pattern.

WarmCinder16archiveJul 23

Body acne looks less obvious because it heals quicker and inflammation is milder. This started after a month and nothing else I've tried has helped acne this way.

BlueAlder28archiveJul 23

Five months in after starting for loose neck skin following 30 lb loss and extra hair in the shower from fast weight drop on another compound. Began at 1 mg daily then moved to 2 mg. Also using a small-needle roller, a 4% topical version three times a week, collagen peptides in coffee, and neck exercises. Skin feels more resilient and softer yet firmer. Needles sometimes bend now. Hair still sheds in the shower but what remains looks fuller and I don't see new thinning. Gray hairs are hard to judge. The anti-inflammatory and healing effects are a bonus.

NorthLantern91archiveJul 23

Eight weeks into daily pinning, starting at 1 mg and slowly reaching 2 mg this week. One injection at night. Skin got very soft quickly and the loose neck skin from age and weight loss has tightened noticeably. The results so far are better than expected.

WarmAnchor55archiveJul 23

Baldness runs in the men in my family. I began using a known hair treatment at 30 and still have a full head while my brothers are bald. Recently started a blend for skin but it's too early to say.

Wish I could get rid of the dark chin hairs. Menopause and hormone therapy are rough. I'd rather have gray than these thick ones.

LevelSignal72archiveJul 23

Injections have become harder to do, which might mean firmer skin. Some tightening after weight loss but not much loose skin to begin with. No other clear changes. Beard and other hairs are still gray and the crown is still thinning.

IronLantern24archiveJul 23

Glad I don't need hormone therapy. I've had those annoying face hairs since I was young.

Did you begin the other peptide at the same time? That's the next one I'm considering because some say it reduces welts or itching from this one, and I'm also interested in gut benefits.

BrightSparrow36archiveJul 24
↳ replying to @SlowMeadow94

I started the other peptide the month before and then began combining them.

QuietKettle84archiveJul 28

Has anyone checked zinc levels after using this? I know extra copper can lower zinc.

LevelAlder29archiveJul 28

Just began a few weeks ago at 1 mg twice daily, now at 2 mg twice daily. Skin became very soft within days and is developing a glass-like glow. Blemishes fade in 24-48 hours instead of a week.

BrightSparrow36archiveJul 28
↳ replying to @QuietKettle84

I take zinc every night. The amount of copper injected daily stays well under recommended limits anyway.

NorthTimber67archiveJul 28

35-year-old man who works outdoors. Did 2 mg for a month then 3 mg for three weeks. People comment that my face looks tan and healthy even though I haven't tanned. Redness is much lower and I get asked if I'm 27-29. Skin is softer and sometimes harder to pierce with a needle. Calluses ripped off while climbing healed in five days. New tattoo took ink well, bled less, and had almost no redness or fallout afterward. Only need lotion once or twice a day instead of hourly.

NorthCompass23archiveJul 28

Currently off it for comfort because of welts. Nails are stronger than the usual paper-thin ones. After a trim my hair looked healthier than ever, though not thicker and no new growth in thinning spots. This is after four months. Around eight to twelve weeks in, skin felt extremely soft, bumps on the upper arms disappeared, and heel cracks improved.

LevelTimber64archiveJul 28

Heels are now smooth. Skin feels softer. The little gray I had is even less. Friends and coworkers ask what skincare routine I'm using.

BrightSparrow36archiveJul 28

I also use those skincare products a lot.

Maybe I should raise my dose. Currently at 1 mg each morning for the past week.

↳ replying to @IronThistle80

Have you seen any improvements or lack of them so far?

IronThistle80archiveAug 2

Nothing yet, but I didn't expect changes in the first week at a low dose.

ClearKettle55archiveAug 2

39-year-old man who works outside. Did a month at 3 mg twice daily. A rash on my shin that had stayed red and unhealed for five or six years cleared up in those thirty days. Face skin that I expect to feel dry or rough when scratched is now perfectly moist and smooth, with nails gliding over it.
