How did a woman in perimenopause lose 112 pounds in 14 months and what symptoms improved?

A 42-year-old woman at 5'7" shared that she dropped from 260 to 148 pounds over 14 months while dealing with perimenopause. She reported major relief from body aches, palpitations, night sweats, and low energy, and believes the change helped her avoid diabetes. Other users responded with short congratulations and one suggested considering bioidentical HRT later.

The title tells the story and I really do feel much better now. At 42 and standing 5 foot 7, perimenopause felt awful when I weighed 260 pounds. Losing the weight came just in time to dodge bigger problems like diabetes. I used to deal with constant body aches, occasional heart flutters, night sweats, and could barely get anything done. I figure actual menopause will probably bring more of the same, but I'm ignoring that possibility for the moment and just want to enjoy how things are, hoping the good stretch lasts another 15 years.

Really impressive effort, girl.

When the time comes, don't hesitate to look into bioidentical HRT. It should help your results feel even stronger.

Amazing! Really thrilled for your success. I agree with the earlier comment on hormone therapy. It changes everything.

Yes I feel the same about the hormone therapy. I have fresh interest in it after staying away due to cancer concerns, only to learn that mainly relates to the previous versions? Need to look into it more. I know several people using it and the outcomes are clear. They all seem to be doing really well.

AmberCinder18archive15h

Just incredible, congrats!! What did you use?

RustLantern55archive11h

Wow, you must be feeling incredible after everything. Your progress has me beaming with joy. That effort deserves real praise. Your appearance is truly stunning.

LevelFenwick52archive10h

Wow, leaving out which GLP they probably took along with how much feels pretty wild to me.

I don't get the sarcasm here at all. Inquire openly instead. The message marks a happy occasion.

Way to go girl that is quite the achievement. My starting weight was around 270 pounds at the same height of five foot seven and I've used Reta across the last eighteen months. Right now I'm sitting at 170. I first aimed for 160 yet lately I've been considering 150 instead. You appear amazing are you thinking there is still more to drop. I figured I might seem skinny under 150 but I have not weighed that little since around age thirteen so it's tough to guess.

These kinds of medicines make a massive positive impact. How unfortunate that certain stories and opinions have converted such a helpful tool into arguments about it being dishonest or leading to softer bones. Feeling joyful about your progress!

Appreciate the kind words! 😊 Nice going on your results so far. It appears sticking with that method might help reach the target if you decide to continue. Solid effort! I feel dropping any further weight would leave me looking and sensing off, given my straight build and wider upper frame. Instead I’m focused on gaining some toned muscle. What’s the experience like after shedding a hundred? 😊
