Normal person

Summary

What does it feel like to have a normal relationship with food on retatrutide?

Users on retatrutide describe finally experiencing a typical appetite where food stops dominating their thoughts all day. They report no longer bingeing, feeling full on smaller amounts, and losing interest in previously craved items like sweets or large portions. Several note this change feels freeing and life-changing even if they were never obese, with some adjusting doses to avoid under-eating.

Honestly on Reta I finally feel like a regular person with a regular appetite. Food isn't on my mind nonstop and I'm not bingeing and gaining weight all the time. It's really helping me a lot. I'm at 4mg after trying 5mg which made even water hard to get down and left me not eating enough, so 4mg seems perfect right now.

For those carrying extra weight these treatments deliver something beyond just shedding kilos. It's the chance to move through a normal day without obsessing over meals that feels like a real breakthrough. Now and then I catch myself wondering whether I've taken in enough that day which strikes me as odd too. At last I get to feel this kind of freedom.

It does the same for me. I wasn't obese but I used to overeat which wasn't good for me. Now with retatrutide I can keep control and I've lost interest in the foods I liked most, though I can still eat whatever I want if I choose.

Yeah that's a real benefit of GLP meds. I can eat the same bland stuff every day and not care at all. Food is now just fuel instead of entertainment or pleasure. Even on keto I still wanted carbs and sweets. My sweet tooth is gone now and I'm really glad about that. Life is simpler when you're not controlled by the food industry.

Exactly what I feel. I was never obese because I always held myself back but I was always hungry. I had to eat every three or four hours and it felt strange at every job because I needed breaks to eat constantly. Waking at 6am and eating that often meant five or six meals a day. Meanwhile some people say they forget to eat and can't gain weight. That was a long frustration and now on reta it's like a superpower. I'm a waiter so I eat at 4pm before my shift and again at 9 or 10pm after. Not feeling miserable all the time is pretty life changing.

Yes these GLP-1 meds are great. I have the same thoughts and think this must be what a normal person feels about food. From the first day my relationship with food changed. Good luck on your journey.

For months now while using this I've kept thinking along those lines. My connection to eating finally feels ordinary. Last night out with some buddies there was a big shared platter of fried onions and cheese sticks. I tried just one from each and then lost all interest in the rest. That felt really good.

Oh wow. I just realized that now. Shows that even a high IQ doesn't stop the simplest ideas from hitting you later. Normal people. I never thought of it that way because I always saw myself as normal in most things. But now that it's mentioned I recognize all the things others here described. I don't feel hungry and I realize the extreme overeating I used to do was not normal. Cheers everyone. Keep going on retatrutide or tirzepatide if needed.

This is truly wonderful! It's great how I'm rarely starving throughout the day, and even when appetite strikes, a tiny bit of good stuff fills me up completely. Before, I'd stress over meals whenever heading out close to dinnertime, always planning spots or carrying extras. These days I realize waiting works fine, and slight pangs don't bother me much. Wild!

Yes constantly thinking about food is a curse. I'm happy for you. Hope it keeps working and you enjoy it.

At what dose did you feel the sweet tooth disappear? I'm only on week two of 1mg and still get cravings. It takes a lot less to satisfy them which is good but I still get them.

Honestly right after the first dose. Though I had already been trying not to eat sweets for a long time before starting Reta. Now at 3mg my only treat is a small bag of popcorn a couple times a week.

Many points here line up with what I've gone through. The medication shifted my thinking so I no longer feel the need to finish every bite once I'm satisfied I just stop. Evening overeating has ended for good. I've kept picking the foods I like but take smaller amounts now. Several items at a meal have become just one. At parties I pass on dessert without any problem. A bottle of liquor has sat untouched for half a year. A nightly drink to relax still feels fine. I'm more at ease with how I look and when I'm with others. The other day I chose a colored top after years of avoiding them and picked up a patterned outfit I once would have rejected. This has restored my sense of normal life.

I feel all of these comments. As mentioned the meds don't work as well for me because I didn't tolerate Reta well. I'm still very thankful for tirzepatide. To go out with friends and not be the one only thinking about the chips and dip and then eating them all is freedom.

I hadn't considered that perspective before, yet it checks out. At six foot one I've never carried much extra weight despite my build allowing for it, even though my helpings were always oversized. It struck me as strange during group takeout when I cleared my dish and then some while the rest of the table had plenty remaining. After starting this regimen roughly thirty days back my portions now seem average. Last evening we ordered Asian food and rather than finishing the whole order as usual I'm left with enough for a couple more sittings.
