Tirz vial stopper popped during recon but filtered afterward - still usable?

The original poster described the stopper popping off mid-process but quickly transferring most of the liquid and filtering everything into a new vial. Multiple replies noted that brief air exposure before filtration is not a concern because any contaminants would be removed by the filter step. I was doing my first reconstitution and filtering of tirz. Opening the vial made the whole metal ring come loose so only the rubber remained. It felt off but I moved the contents to a fresh sterile vial anyway. Once the bac water was in and I started drawing everything into a 3 mL syringe the rubber came loose completely and the vial was open to air. Most of the liquid was already in the syringe so I grabbed the rest fast then attached the filter and moved it to another vial. Now I wonder if it is still okay because I did filter it afterward. I know the issue was pressure from skipping the vent step plus using a 22 gauge needle.

On my first reconstitution I also did not realize the vial had a vacuum. It surprised me when the bac water got pulled straight in.

Each time you add pressure to the vial you are already letting air in so this seems like it should not matter much unless you are doing the work right next to a bathroom. Is the air the only part that concerns you?

Not a big deal at all. I would go ahead and use it. I pull with a 1.5 inch 27 g needle that reaches the bottom of a 3 mL vial and use a shorter needle for venting.

Yeah the air is the only thing on my mind but since I filtered afterward I am not too concerned. It just felt pretty messy overall.

The same thing happened to me early on with my second vial. It all worked out fine in the end.

A few seconds of outside air does not matter much here because the exposure happened before the filtering step. Anything that could have entered would have been caught by the filter right away.
