NAD+ just get tired. Also DISP and Semax

16 replies10 peopleMay 19, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Why does NAD+ cause tiredness instead of energy for some users, and how do people manage sleep or effects with related peptides like Semax, DSIP, and Selank?

Several users report NAD+ producing afternoon fatigue or poor sleep rather than the expected energy boost, even after weeks at 25-100mg doses. Some found relief by lowering the dose, switching timing, or adding compounds like SS-31, Selank, or DSIP, while others saw no improvement or worsening symptoms. Experiences with nasal Semax and DSIP varied widely in perceived effects and dosing needs. One user suggested ADHD as a possible factor that reverses typical stimulant responses.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether NAD+ primarily delivers energy or merely reveals existing shortfalls; some saw clear benefits only after adding SS-31 while others saw none.

Still open

Whether the tiredness from NAD+ eventually resolves with continued use or requires other changes like addressing ADHD or basic health factors.

Nothing here is advice.

Since the beginning of the year one substance has been part of my routine while the other comes and goes. My latest batch included three extras and for two of them I cannot tell if they produce any result at all. I mixed up my own nasal versions and use them that way. The remaining one however leaves me ready for a midday doze every single afternoon. Ten days in and after moving from the lower amount to double that I keep wondering whether the drowsiness will stick around or if I have overlooked something. Moving the dose to nighttime might stop the early rising so I am considering that. Most accounts I saw focus on added alertness instead so any thoughts on this pattern would help.

What quantity are you taking of the nasal Semax?

I mixed ten milligrams of peptide into ten milliliters of sterile water. Figuring each pump gives point one milliliter, two or three pumps come to two hundred through three hundred micrograms.

For my needs that dose seems quite low. Back when I began I used 250 micrograms in each spray but these days I go with 500 in every one. Altogether one milligram suits me fine.

I'm wondering why NAD+ leaves some people drained instead of energized. It's a main enzyme inside the cell's power centers and should increase vitality, yet the result feels reversed for them. Truth is it never hands out power by itself. What it does is heighten how well you can generate power and align it with what your system actually demands. So when diet, mineral levels, or rest fall short, the process just brings those shortfalls into view right away. It's more like hitting the gas pedal than topping off a tank.

After sticking with the first option over eight weeks my issues just kept getting worse. Trying it at nighttime failed to improve my rest at all. Beginning the next substance recently looked like it made a difference. Adding the latest one the night before left me up until early morning. So it's unclear what might work going forward. I'm really worn out from constant fatigue without ever managing to rest.

I picked up an allergy tablet through an online seller and combined a low dose of it with another supplement which let me rest deeply all night.

Using a single milligram dose of NA Selank under the skin sixty to one hundred twenty minutes ahead of bedtime lets me rest on my Friday injection schedule for the other compound. Currently going through a washout and those initial three evenings afterward proved difficult.

Seems we share quite a few things in common. Just beginning the second week on this regimen of compounds taken under the skin. The first one goes in three hours prior to sleep with the dose varying based on how much pressure built up during waking hours. The second gets used an hour and a half before lights out at a lower amount on workdays or higher if there's time to stay in bed longer. The next two both happen within a half hour of bedtime. The whole thing runs for three weeks or possibly four. Early effects showed up faintly with roughly a fifth more time spent in the deeper stages versus my usual average. After the fourth day the change became obvious with the last two evenings bringing nearly double the combined deep and rem periods inside slightly longer overall nights. Waking up feels smoother and I notice a lift in spirits along with slightly stronger drive yet the upcoming break still leaves me uneasy.

It looks to me like the nasal form along with the amidate one simply gives an extended duration in the body. The strength does not look much different overall. That would mean taking a dose at five or six and then once more around nine thirty or ten.

Regarding my NAD+ dosage, it began at fifty milligrams before increasing to one hundred, yet exhaustion set in. Dropping it to twenty five milligrams and maintaining that level produced no noticeable shifts for some time. I decided to complete the remaining supply regardless. Once SS31 entered the mix, an abrupt surge of vitality appeared. Whether this stems from the addition alone or a combined effect remains unclear to me. Regardless, the improvement feels positive. I plan to wrap up the current SS31 period before resuming with Mots C and NAD+.

I wonder if the main goal for most folks trying NAD+ is to gain more vigor. After I began that compound my partner noticed others turning to it for reducing signs of age and skin creases which got me looking around. The studies I've seen here so far don't seem encouraging on the stamina side. Could that separate peptide by itself have produced similar outcomes?

For me the top effect from NAD+ involves how the body handles energy production with slower aging coming next. What draws other people to try it isn't clear to me at all. The lift in vitality is my own reason for sticking with it. So far nothing has shown up in the way of reduced aging signs.

Have you got ADHD? I've chatted with plenty who do, though I haven't checked any studies, and things that boost energy for most folks just wear them out instead, me included. Since caffeine and similar stimulants often flip to the opposite effect with ADHD, I wondered about your situation.
