TRU NIAGEN

6 replies5 peopleSep 21, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Do people notice real effects from daily NR supplements and how do doses or alternatives compare?

Users report starting NR at 300-500 mg daily without titration. Some feel no strong boost but notice a difference when skipping doses, while others describe mild relaxation or no change at all. Research is viewed as credible yet marketing raises skepticism. One person found NR helpful after NMN did nothing and wonders if plain niacin would work the same.

Started this 300 mg capsule three days back and curious if others using it see any changes. Research looked solid, indicating similar or superior outcomes compared to direct NAD shots, so skipping the shots made sense. Main worry is the site and ads resemble those exaggerated ineffective products.

Been using it every day for nearly ten years. Studies indicate NAD precursors work as well as NAD itself, sometimes better. A third-party study backs this and lists this product among the two most dependable options. It is not the kind of supplement you feel strongly, yet I trust it is doing something. I notice the absence more when I skip a day than any big lift when I take it.

Thank you. What dose are you on now? And how did you build up to it?

Began with 300 mg each day. No titration required. The company suggests 300 mg for those under fifty and one thousand for those over, yet I cap it at 600 mg when also using other compounds for an added lift. It costs enough that one thousand milligrams is not worth it. I usually buy the six-month bottle to keep the expense down.

I take liposomal NR. Never titrated and stay at 500 mg daily. Cannot say I feel much from it, but the research appears sound and at least there seem to be no negative effects from extended use.

NMN produced no change for me. NR gave a pleasant result. Curious whether niacin would convert and deliver the same outcome.

Used it for roughly a month for the same reason you mentioned, avoiding another injection. It was part of a stack aimed at lowering cortisol, but I chose not to reorder because of the cost. The trial was short, yet I recall feeling somewhat more relaxed during the day.
