What do you guys think about DNP?

27 replies26 peopleDec 30, 2025☆ Follow
Summary

Is DNP worth using for fat loss given the risks and are there better alternatives?

The thread shows near-universal opposition to DNP, with users citing fatal overheating risks, painful side effects like sweating and lethargy, and narrow safety margins that have led to many deaths. Past users describe it as rough or ineffective for them and strongly advise against it. Safer mitochondrial or peptide options are repeatedly suggested instead.

Thinking of starting at 200mg for the first week then moving up to 400-600mg. What do you think about that plan, anyone have experience with it?

BlueTimber78archiveDec 30, 2025

Are you referring to the industrial chemical that can literally cook you from the inside? We have far better weight loss options available now and you want to use that? By the time you realize something is wrong it could already be too late. Seems like a bad choice overall. I would advise against it.

QuietBramble77archiveDec 30, 2025

I think you should skip it. Not worth the chance of dying painfully just to drop a few pounds that are mostly muscle and water anyway.

LevelThistle83archiveDec 30, 2025

There have been too many deaths linked to this substance. Given how often people mix up measurements even with simpler compounds, bringing it back would not help anyone. Reports show some people developed rigor in under two hours even while CPR was underway. It is a terrible way to go.

SharpFenwick93archiveDec 30, 2025

Stay away from that stuff. There are much safer ways to raise mitochondrial output without fully uncoupling everything and risking cooking yourself. Even stacking several of the newer compounds at higher doses would still be far safer. Seriously, do not do it.

AmberMarble84archiveDec 30, 2025

Don't. Same as what the others are saying. Why take the risk at all.

KeenPebble77archiveDec 30, 2025

I used it back in the late 2000s. I would never touch it again. Save yourself the hassle and the danger.

SharpLedger58archiveDec 30, 2025

No. If you really have to try something in that category, look at Bam15 instead.

WarmHarbour12archiveJan 3

I had some years ago but never took it. The container it came in stained right through the plastic and turned yellow so I threw it out. That alone tells me what it probably does inside you. I would not recommend it.

BlueMarble68archiveJan 3

Tried this stuff on two occasions. It can overheat your body and maybe cause vision loss, so why risk it? An overdose leaves you without any real treatment options. It took about a day for it to build up in my body. Clearing out took several days up to a week. Felt drained, sweated a lot, struggled with breathing. Never dropped any pounds even at high doses around that range. On the final attempt, I couldn't even get myself to take the morning dose, and I'm convinced that would have been the end for me. With loose powder you gotta watch the amounts closely. Underground sources mean each tablet might have inconsistent amounts, potentially enough to finish you off on any given day.

SteadyAlder49archiveJan 7

That is a terrible idea. Plenty of people have died awful deaths from using it. If you really want mitochondrial uncoupling try BAM-15, though I still would not recommend even that. For a sustainable approach focus on supporting your mitochondria rather than burning them out. Start with SS-3, MOTS-C, and NAD+ then add things like Reta or Tesa/Ipa if needed.

SharpTimber34archiveJan 7

Same as everyone else, do not use it. There are better options with lower risks. One top coach has not touched it in years because the extra fat loss is barely noticeable and it leaves you feeling wrecked. People at the top level are not using it anymore. Unless you just want to experiment there is no reason to. Watch your dosing carefully because miscalculations have caused serious problems.

WarmBramble39archiveJan 9

Oh no, not this again. Why would anyone bother when there are so many other tools that will not destroy you from the inside.

Folks using cartoon character images on their accounts seem shady these days. That choice only hurts the standing of the whole crowd.

ClearMarble34archiveJan 12

I ran it a few times years ago and the sides were rough. I would not do it now when there are safer options that do not make you feel like death. Still have the yellow stained sheets though.

SlowAlder74archiveJan 15

With all the effective options available now, why put yourself through that? I tried it a few times and it was really rough.

Natural selection can really hit certain folks pretty hard.

How much did you try per day? The mechanism is interesting. It kind of reminds me of how bacteria die except we are feeding our own cells.

SharpLedger58archiveApr 20

I do 25mg every other day when I am taking it.

DNP = Do Not Partake

CopperSignal27archiveApr 20

One reason it is viewed as so dangerous is the low therapeutic index, meaning the gap between a useful dose and a lethal one is small. That makes accidental overdoses leading to untreatable hyperthermia, kidney failure, or brain damage more likely. You are also relying on accurate dosing from an unlicensed source, and those products are often inconsistent. Getting the mix right requires proper equipment and experience. Even some of the newer untested peptides are probably safer than this. For fat loss a combination of reta, trt, hgh, and cagrilintide is likely to work for most people.

Everything you just said is true. Now let me disagree a bit. Yes it is hard to think of a PED stack more dangerous than this. You really need to know what you are doing. For harm reduction only, here are some tips: it is flammable so test a small amount by burning it and compare to known videos. Weigh it yourself with a calibrated mg scale. Dose your own capsules only if you are competent at it. Incompetent people should never touch it. It does work very well at burning fat faster than anything else, the nuclear option. I have used it but only experimentally. I choose not to now because it hurts gym performance and the sweating is disgusting. I do not want visible sides from anything I take. Using reta and hgh is much better long term. Most people wanting this substance want it for the wrong reasons.

GreyThistle88archiveApr 28

It reminds me, whatever happened to Bam15? When I first read about it last summer there was a lot of excitement and I paid a lot for a few pills. I was new at the time and running several things at once so I could not tell if it did anything. The buzz seems to have faded and it is not mentioned much now. Any new information I am missing?

Makes some sense if you are planning on working in the arctic for a while. Otherwise I would think no.

KeenPebble33archiveApr 29

Like the others said I would not touch it. The safety window is very narrow with little room between helpful doses and ones that can cause lasting harm. All for what? Peptides can get similar results with a much wider safety margin. Just do not.

GreyThistle88archiveApr 29

I think you are right. I was listening to that podcast a lot when I first started. Jokes on them though because I never used their code. I went grey market instead though it was still overpriced. The funniest part is the claim of trying all the peptides personally. There is no way someone is on twenty different ones at once and can still isolate the effects of each.

SlowHarbour21archiveApr 30

It seems the person passed away. They didn't return.
