Reactions to a Possible Insulin Skin Cream for Diabetes

4 replies3 peopleNov 20, 2025☆ Follow
Summary

What concerns do people raise about turning insulin into a skin cream instead of injections?

Participants discuss a proposed cream-based insulin delivery method and immediately shift to worries about accidental transfer, inconsistent skin absorption, and poor hygiene practices in peptide handling communities. One user prefers patches to limit transfer risks while another notes variable absorption seen in hormone therapy discussions. Sanitation lapses, such as preparing injections near pets, are cited as reasons for caution with any new topical or injectable formats.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether cream or patch delivery would ultimately be preferable or reliable enough for consistent medical use.

Nothing here is advice.

A new approach to insulin delivery might one day remove the need for needles that many diabetes patients depend on.

I think this kind of thing should come as a patch instead. Cream versions have led to cases where adults passed hormones like estrogen or testosterone to kids or others. Ideas about crop dusting whole cities just add fuel for conspiracy claims.

That’s all the rest of us need. My FIL still thinks masks do nothing. That claim goes back to 2020.

This could be interesting. I agree patches would be better. The problem is absorption isn’t always steady, and from what I’ve read on HRT forums some people just don’t take it up well through the skin. Hopefully doctors would adjust treatment for those patients.

I’m fed up with how many people skip basic cleanliness when handling peptides. One person was mixing on a kitchen counter while their cat with dirty paws walked across the area used for injection prep.
