Keeping records is a core part of any research work. I use a notebook for every calculation plus the exact time and date of each mixing step. I also make small labels for the vials that show the date, strength, and concentration, and I lay out future steps on a paper calendar.
Am I overdoing it by writing everything down? I plan to record when each vial gets mixed, when I first use an aliquot, and when I throw one out along with the reason. I also want to note how much time has passed since mixing and list each injection time. On pin days I will check weight and measurements in the morning. I have some bloodwork and a scan already but skipped a few markers like iron levels.
