I brought a friend into peptides but he wants to go through a compounding pharmacy. His doctor is against the whole idea yet said that if he is going to proceed anyway then the compounding route is better. This leaves me wondering whether a 90-day supply of compounded versions will actually hold up better than the usual reconstituted gray-market material over that span. The pharmacy told him the liquids would stay stable past 90 days. There is already discussion about whether the common 28-day cold-storage rule is too strict, with some data showing certain sequences handle longer times and warmer conditions. Even some industry voices have said lyophilized material can sit at room temperature for years with little loss. How do the real stability and safety aspects compare between a 90-day compounded batch and the standard DIY approach across the same window?

If both are reconstituted at the same moment there is probably not much difference because it is basically the same material. The advantage of handling it yourself is that you control the exact timing and dosing. When you buy from a health spa the clock on potency and sterility has already been running for an unknown period unless they mixed it the day you picked it up, and from what I have heard that is rarely the case.

That is a fair point. If the compounder makes popular items in advance then some number of days have already elapsed before the buyer even receives them.

I have compounded versions in the fridge with BUD dates stretching into the first quarter of next year. It seems to depend on the specific pharmacy. Some can set BUDs out to a year while others are limited to a couple of months. Even when a larger operation holds both classifications I doubt their actual production steps differ much.

It is not me. I have run gray-market material at various scales for more than two years, including direct overseas orders. My friend is new to it and his doctor is a family acquaintance, so he passes along all my questions and sourcing details. My own doctor steered me toward gray-market options more than two years ago. When I asked for a script the answer was that none was available, but a source was suggested that the doctor trusted because of its COAs. That was how I first got into gray-market material. Not sure whether to thank him or curse him, since I have been deep into learning about biohacking ever since.

I have been looking at that same data set. Are the percentages cumulative or absolute? Does month two sit 3 percent lower and month three another 4 percent lower than month two, or is month three simply 4 percent lower than the starting amount? Also the test variation looks large enough that it could explain why some readings appear to increase.

What will probably happen is that people who stockpile a large amount and then inject it years later will end up with unexpected effects. Then when the media run stories about a new gray-market substance turning users into super-powered lizards it will actually be based on real events. I figured it was only a matter of time.

I plan to keep using another peptide ten or more years from now, so the lizard outcome does not seem likely in my case.
