Cycle off or not (GHK-CU)

17 replies12 peopleJul 1, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Should GHK-Cu users cycle off periodically or keep taking it long-term without breaks?

People describe visible skin improvements and faster injury recovery while staying on GHK-Cu daily for months. Some plan a break mainly to limit copper accumulation rather than to prevent tolerance, while others see no reason to stop and note that natural production declines with age. Zinc is mentioned by a few as a possible offset, though its usefulness is questioned unless blood levels are already high.

Started GHK-CU back in mid-May and already notice the lines on my neck fading. Also broke my collarbone recently and added an injury-recovery blend at the same time. Trying to figure out whether to pause the GHK-CU for two to four weeks or just keep going. Opinions online are mixed on whether a break is needed at all. The recovery blend seems to be helping the bone, so maybe finish that first and then decide on a pause.

Halfway through a twelve-week run of GHK-Cu myself. The main point of cycling seems to be preventing excess copper rather than losing sensitivity to the peptide. Still planning to take time off for that reason, though I suspect buildup is less of an issue once you’re older.

Three months in at 2 mg a day and not planning any break right now. No side effects so far, and at over fifty I’m comfortable continuing until I get fresh bloodwork later this year.

No plans to stop the copper peptide. Daily use since February and the improvements are gradual. Some others have posted stronger results after a twelve-week stretch.

Been adding zinc hoping it balances things out. Still think copper buildup matters less with age.

Zinc isn’t needed unless serum copper is already high or there’s a specific condition like Wilson’s.

What daily amounts are most of you using?

Skip the zinc if you’re fine staying saggy after weight loss or going bald.

Any particular reason you’re skipping a break, and have the results been worth it? Only a week into 2 mg myself.

LevelTimber64archiveJul 4

No reason to take a break. Yeah, sure.

Body produces it naturally and output drops with age, so no break needed. Skin feels firmer and thicker, hair has darkened and filled in, nails are much harder. Really like it.

Been going back and forth on the same question. Daily 2 mg since mid-March along with a bit of KPV and finally seeing fewer fine lines and better skin tone. At the age where this is supposed to help most, and already taking zinc. Question is whether to keep going or risk losing progress by pausing over an unconfirmed copper risk.

Didn’t realize that. Grabbing zinc now.

Quick points: certain enzymes that break down collagen need zinc, and low zinc can drop testosterone.

Just started 1 mg twice a day and excited about skin elasticity. Two days in and already joking about softer skin even though it’s probably just expectation. Took a baseline face photo anyway. Also noticed big skin changes after five months on tirzepatide—less discoloration and clearer pores than expected.

Skipping any break. The copper concern has been shown to be overstated.

Using a combined product and recently went up to 5 mg of GHK-CU daily. Should I be worried?

Thanks, but that’s beyond what I can follow.
