Diarrhea with Retatrutide

Summary

How long does diarrhea last after stopping Retatrutide and what starting dose avoids it?

A user reports ongoing diarrhea several days after halting 2.5 mg Retatrutide taken as the first dose. Replies note the 6-7 day half-life means the drug lingers and suggest waiting it out with electrolytes while restarting much lower if desired. One person tolerated 2 mg with only heartburn, and another points out clinical trials began at 2 mg.

I'm posting for a friend who began Reta at 2.5 mg and got diarrhea from it. Stopping hasn't helped even after a few days. Anyone else gone through this, or any suggestions?

Posting again for a friend who took Reta starting at 2.5 mg and now has diarrhea. He quit but nothing changed after several days. Similar stories or ideas what to try?

Was 2.5 mg his very first dose of Reta? Trials began at 2 mg. I'd recommend beginning at 1 mg or even 0.5 mg to avoid sides like diarrhea. He'll need to wait it out and replenish electrolytes. The drug clears slowly from the system. If resuming, go much lower.

Thanks for the input. He did begin at 2.5 mg which seems excessive. So following your point, he'll need to restart slowly and patiently at a tiny amount.

People react individually. My start was 2 mg and I only had minor issues like heartburn.

The half life of Reta is around six to seven days. That means after seven days about half remains, so 1.25 mg, which some folks still can't tolerate well. Two weeks later it's down to 0.75 mg. Besides electrolytes, try making sticky rice.
