Does the fatigue pass?

11 replies10 peopleNov 15, 2025☆ Follow
Summary

Does fatigue from starting retatrutide go away, and what helps with it?

Users report fatigue often appears in the first weeks on reta but typically fades after 10 days to two months. Some link it to lower food intake or electrolyte loss and find relief from adding minerals or maintaining minimum calories. Stacking with other compounds like MOTS-C or NAD+ shows mixed results on energy and motivation. Appetite suppression is strong for most, but the loss of emotional eating can increase mood swings until new coping habits form.

Started reta last week at just 1 mg to test tolerance. Stacking it with tirz at 7.5 mg, which hasn't helped much with appetite or the other things I'm using. Took 2 mg yesterday and now feel noticeably tired. MOTS-C in the morning usually gets me moving for workouts, but today I skipped even though I've been consistent daily for over a month and actually like it now. Appetite control is strong on reta, though I'm thinking of lowering the tirz since it wasn't doing much. Not eating as much seems to be making me more emotional without the old habit of eating for comfort. Heart rate is unchanged, so I'm wondering if the tiredness is from the reta, from the mood shift, or both. Will it go away soon if it's the reta?

Sounds like you were already dealing with bigger feelings and food was your way of dulling them. Without that outlet the emotions feel stronger now. That's why I get irritable for a while whenever I cut back on eating too, because the usual way of handling stress is gone until something else takes its place.

I started on TRT before this. Felt fine the first two weeks, then fatigue hit hard for the next month. Around the two-month point it lifted. I also added HGH so that might have played a role. Doses went 500 mcg twice a week, then 750 mcg, then 1 mg, 1.5 mg, 2 mg, now 2.5 mg twice a week and heading toward 3 mg. Plan is to reach 8 mg total per week before dropping to a maintenance level.

Had about ten days of fatigue right when I began reta. It faded over four or five days until there was none left. So it did pass for me.

Also had fatigue until I started taking electrolytes every day. Reta seems to deplete minerals faster, which shows up as tiredness. Recent bloodwork confirmed low levels in a few areas. Using LMNT packets in water helped a lot, even with daytime eye tiredness and blurriness that cleared up after drinking one.

On 6-7 mg a week now with no fatigue. Don't recall having any when I first began either, but I switched straight from semaglutide to reta.

Energy actually improved for me once the dose went up and the glucagon effect kicked in more. Still need to eat enough though, because low blood sugar will make you feel down and drain energy further. Missed the emotional eating at first. Kept up exercise six days a week, which helped. Working on the emotional side is tough but necessary.

Took me roughly two months before the fatigue finally went away.

Tirz does the same thing to me. Tried NAD+ and it boosted energy but didn't help with motivation or dopamine. Emotional eating ties into that too. NAC is something I'm considering next. It goes away for some people. Staying on a low dose now but wondering if reta would suit me better.

Yeah NAD+ isn't doing anything for me either. Planning to raise it to 60 mg this week.

For me it's fatigue plus insomnia and constant skin chills like goosebumps. Five weeks in and hoping it all stops soon.

Since it's working, it should stop eventually.
