How to switch from TIRZ to RETA without losing progress?

Summary

How to transition from tirzepatide to retatrutide while keeping weight loss results

People report switching cold turkey from low tirz doses or tapering down before starting reta, often without a washout period. Some note slightly higher food noise after the change but better fat loss overall, allowing continued progress toward goals. Maintenance users describe moving to low weekly reta doses and staying stable long-term while enjoying food normally.

Best starting dose and timing when coming from higher tirz amounts like 5-15mg

Nothing here is advice.

Started Tirz back in January 2026 and dropped about 12 kilos so far. I've been cautious with the amounts, sticking to 5mg a week but bumping to 7.5mg if I need more effect. Want to move over to Reta now but worried about backsliding on the results. Already did my 5mg Tirz early this week and added 2mg Reta today to ease in. What's the next step? Curious how others managed the changeover.

Went straight from one to the other without overlap. Dropped from 2.5 of the first to 2mg of the second the following week. The seven-day half-life made the timing work out well.

Your lower Tirz amount likely helped with swapping it directly for a similar reta dose. How did that change the food noise or your appetite overall?

Food noise increased slightly, yet the reta helped burn fat better, which fit my weight loss aim. Wasn't interested in maximizing appetite suppression.

Switched from 5mg Tirz over to Reta in January. Posted several times already detailing my method and the results I tracked.

I've been maintaining since May 2025. Didn't do a washout period and stopped Tirz abruptly. Was on it for almost exactly a year, with the last dose around May 30th 2025. Reached max of 15mg for five months. Most loss happened earlier, and the final 20lbs came at the 15mg level. In the last two weeks on Tirz, reduced to 10mg and added .125 cagri. Then stopped Tirz the next week, started 1mg Reta plus .25 Cagri for maintenance. Now on 3mg Reta weekly alone after dropping Cagri in November 2025. Ended up losing another 15lbs unintentionally during maintenance, so backed off the stack. Weight has stayed steady, and I can eat normally.
