I look nothing like my passport photo 🤷🏻‍♂️(ozempic face) 🙃

My appearance has changed a lot from my old picture too. I haven't flown internationally since dropping the weight, but I worry it might cause trouble. I assume you'd have to apply for an entirely new passport to get an updated photo. This is probably going to become more common as more people start these medications.

You don't need actual words to explain you're on the medication. Just make a fist and tap it firmly against your lower stomach on either side, right where the pinky side of your hand lands. A doctor used that gesture on me last week to ask if I was taking any GLP-1 drugs, and it was instantly obvious what they meant.

I've dropped 80 pounds since my picture was taken. I flew last week and nobody cared at all. Even the global entry camera matched me without any problem. It's surprising how little a real person actually examines the passport these days.

A few years back I was turned away from voting except for a provisional ballot because officials said my ID no longer looked like me after losing 135 pounds. So I replaced both my driver's license and passport. At my global entry interview right after, I brought the old one too, and the agent said while they could still tell it was me, getting the new one was smart because you never know. They also asked what I did to lose the weight.

I've gone abroad several times since my 2018 passport photo, and I've lost 80 pounds since then. It looks very different to me, but nothing has gone wrong. The automated systems recognize me. Voting places around here don't have those systems though.
