Hope it wasn't out of line to laugh, but the part about the cats and adoption really got me.
I live by myself and tend to keep to myself, yet I have plenty of people who care about me and I often take on activities with some risk. Friends and family pushed me to start letting someone know ahead of time before I do anything like cutting wood out back, then send a quick message once I'm finished. That way if I go silent they can check on the animals and locate me before things get too grim, and my mom won't be left wondering. For any new peptide the first time I set a fifteen-minute follow-up with a friend. I don't ask her to come over since it will probably be okay, but it eases my mind a little. I care about my cats and don't want them ending up in a worse spot if they had time to do something unfortunate.
