Pinning while sick?

10 replies9 peopleMay 8, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Should you continue peptide injections like Reta or Tirz while sick with a cold, respiratory infection, or flu?

Users generally report pinning as usual during mild illnesses such as colds or upper respiratory infections, with extra focus on hydration. A few prefer to pause during fever or gastroenteritis to support recovery and avoid added side effects. Personal preference determines the choice, and no one described major problems from continuing.

Dealing with an upper respiratory infection and got prescribed antibiotics and steroids, just prednisone. Planning to do my Reta shot tonight. Has anyone run into problems pinning while sick?

If the shots are not too hard on you, go ahead and pin while making sure to drink extra fluids.

I'm getting over a cold and did my tirz injection like normal. Same thing when I was on prescription mounjaro, I kept jabbing even when ill. The only time I'd skip is a stomach bug so the gastro effects don't make it worse.

That approach seems sensible. Only my second week so I'm eager to stay consistent. Yeah, it would probably drag out or worsen a stomach bug.

I would still pin if it has been filtered and tested. Otherwise it's at your own risk.

Being sick or not does not seem to change that.

I was sick a few weeks ago with something unknown that caused extreme fatigue and nausea, yet I kept pinning my usual things. It did not seem to affect anything.

Lots of short illnesses have been going around here and I've been sick more this year than the last three combined. Each time I waited until I felt better before pinning again. It's really a personal choice. I also had to stay on top of hydration because illness reduces the urge to drink while increasing fluid needs.

I had quite severe gastroenteritis recently and postponed my Reta injection for four days, which turned out to be the right call. If you have a fever, wait a few days to let your body recover. Drink more fluids and bump calories up a little; your body will appreciate it and you can tighten the diet later.

Last time the flu hit me with a temperature I avoided the GLP so I could handle more meals and drinks. Separately I gave myself a shot of KPV hoping it might ease things and noticed the issues became easier to deal with.

Good point. I have pinned when sick but have not had a stomach bug in a while, and that advice seems logical for the future.
