Switch to Reta or use up Tirz first?

11 replies10 peopleFeb 7, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Should I finish my current Tirz supply before switching to Reta or change now?

Participants are split on finishing Tirz since loss is ongoing versus switching for liver benefits or different sides. Several report similar fatigue on both and note Reta may speed liver improvement but requires higher dosing for faster loss. Stacking low doses of other compounds or the two together is mentioned as an option by some who have tried it.

I've got roughly three to four months of compounded Tirz still on hand and a new supply of Reta came in last week. Can't decide if I should switch over right away or finish the Tirz. Loss is still happening but slower than at the start. Began overall weight loss in March 2025 from 236, started Tirz at 205 in September and now sit around 177. Dropping about 4-5 pounds a month, which feels middling. Main reasons to switch are possible liver perks, a chance at quicker loss, and avoiding the tiredness and flat feeling from Tirz. For anyone who made the change, did loss speed up? Did the sides feel the same or quite different?

Stick with the Tirz until it's gone. The weight loss is still happening.

If you want to finish the Tirz without changing what is working but the fatigue and dullness are bothering you, some add a very light amount of another compound on top. Worth looking into. Doses like 0.3 mg weekly for the first month then 0.6 after that, staying low. Not sure why it helps but it seems to for me.

If you're not at the top dose yet, reach that first then move to Reta.

Why not use both? I combine them, not for good but just during the weight loss phase. It's sold as a burn blend and works like one.

Finish what you have since the weight is still coming off. Others mention fatigue with Reta too so it might not improve how you feel.

I can feel just as bad on Reta. Studies show fatigue rates are similar between the two. Reta might be overhyped except when it comes to the liver. If fatty liver is an issue then Reta could help faster. It also looks better on paper for lowering LDL. Faster loss shows up in studies but you need to raise the dose. Some gain a bit temporarily when switching. Reta does not seem to protect muscle any better and some data even point to a higher share of muscle loss. Anyone with heart problems should wait until it is approved.

I think I saw that at 10 to 12 mg of Reta after 42 or 48 weeks about 76 percent of those with fatty liver no longer had it. Pretty striking.

Good to hear. My last labs before starting showed fatty liver. Down 85 pounds now and looking forward to fresh tests once I hit the 100 pound mark.

I do the same, Tirz on Monday and Reta on Friday.

I stacked while moving to Reta then used Reta by itself and now stack again. Switched because Tirz alone gave me bad fatigue, food tasting off so I used unflavored protein in coffee to hit protein goals, and bad constipation. Start low if stacking. Those who see higher heart rates usually begin too high or move up fast. I began with 1 mg Reta plus 8 of Tirz. Best balance for loss and sides was 4 mg each weekly. Anyone sensible can handle Reta. I have AFib and had no problems. Begin low, hold a full month before any increase. Any GLP can raise resting heart rate. Sorry you felt rough on Reta, getting energy back was a big relief for me. Appetite suppression is weaker for many but I have not run into that. Loss has been slower on Reta but I switched to eating more real food instead of shakes. No data on muscle loss but I have added some.

I'm thinking about trying that myself.
