Tirzepatide vs Retatrutide

9 replies9 peopleAug 2, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Tirzepatide vs Retatrutide which works better for weight loss

Users compare the two peptides noting Tirzepatide provides stronger appetite control while Retatrutide adds a metabolic boost that can increase fat oxidation and resting energy use. Some report Retatrutide raises heart rate and can interfere with sleep but may be gentler on digestion and easier for staying active. Individual responses differ so some people do better on one or the other and a few consider low-dose stacking. Both are viewed as long-term options rather than one replacing the other.

After hearing about Retatrutide here I looked into it. I used Tirzepatide at 10 mg for more than a year until insurance stopped coverage. I have now been off it for about four months and am starting again. If the weight loss is not enough would switching to Reta make sense? It seems like it could be stronger.

Right now I am taking 15 mg of Tirz for both weight loss and type 2 diabetes. I am considering adding a low dose of Reta along with Cagri.

I am using reta and have never tried tirz. From what I have seen tirz is stronger at creating a full feeling. Reta increases heart rate and makes the liver release fat into the bloodstream which can make exercise and daily movement easier yet harder to sleep. If the plan is to lift weights stay active and accept lighter sleep then reta seems better. If the plan is simply to eat less then tirz is the choice. Many people combine the two anyway. I do not intend to go above 6 or 8 mg of reta and will add tirz if I am not at goal by then.

I have noticed several new threads with basic questions that already have many existing answers. There are plenty of discussions on this subject. I considered sending a private note about how to use the search tool but am unsure if that is possible under the current banner. The magnifying glass icon or the Search link in the upper right opens the tool. Searching the phrase tirz reta and limiting to titles only brings up many relevant threads.

Tirz gives a stronger appetite suppression effect. Reta adds a metabolic route that can raise resting energy use by roughly 100 to 200 calories though that has not been measured directly. Appetite control is milder with reta and it brings extra sides such as elevated resting heart rate yet appears easier on the stomach. I prefer reta while losing weight because it feels more effective overall but like low dose tirz for maintenance when only mild appetite control is needed. Both are impressive compounds so the choice comes down to personal priorities.

Both Tirz and Reta are going to stay around. They achieve similar results through different mechanisms so some people respond better to one and others to the other. Details are still being worked out but I expect reta will not replace tirz and that both will have ongoing demand. Sema on the other hand should fade out.

Some users try to steer others toward searching instead of posting. I also search but the main reason for a forum is conversation so new questions should not be discouraged.

Questions that require little effort do not lead to useful discussion.

I understand wanting to join in when new but there are already many threads on the topic so adding to one of those makes sense. Creating something fresh would help more. New members are welcome when they bring value yet repeated posts do not move things forward. The welcome section in announcements explains the community guidelines.
