Anyone on a maintenance dose of tirz?

Summary

What maintenance doses and schedules of tirzepatide work after reaching goal weight?

People report highly individual maintenance approaches ranging from 1.25 mg weekly up to 15 mg weekly, with some keeping the same dose and others lowering it or extending intervals between injections. Many stay stable for months at reduced doses or less frequent shots while a few need to stay near their peak dose to avoid regain. Adding other peptides like reta is mentioned by a handful as a way to manage energy or hunger without raising tirz. Long-term outcomes remain experimental with no shared clinical guidelines yet.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether staying on the highest tolerated dose is required to prevent regain or whether many can successfully drop to much lower amounts or less frequent dosing

Is anyone here using a maintenance amount of tirz? How does that stack up against the amount you took while dropping weight?

BlueAlder28archiveJul 11

I've kept a browser window sitting there since yesterday hoping for updates on this. Is nobody talking about the maintenance phase? In that big trial folks who kept taking the highest amount they could handle held steady at their target without regaining anything. People who lowered to the smaller weekly amount instead regained about a third of what they'd dropped earlier, keeping only seventy percent of their overall progress. One outside research project looked at participants already at goal who kept their amount unchanged but spread the shots out to every two weeks. It covered users of both medications and after roughly four months the group had dropped another couple pounds on average. The whole thing was tiny with just thirty folks total. Separately someone I've been supporting switched down to the lowest weekly amount for holding steady after only needing to lose twenty-two pounds and topping out at a moderate level. That plan has held up fine over the last three weeks.

I spotted that this place includes a handy tool for spotting popular discussions through the search icon. I tried an example lookup using those keywords and got these outcomes for maint AND tirz.

NorthHarbour19archiveJul 11

Keeping my weight stable involves taking 2.5 mg of Tirz on a repeating five day interval. During festive times or when my diet slips I observe a gain of several pounds on the scale prompting me to raise the amount to 3 mg using the identical interval. That said perhaps I am very sensitive to it since seven point five mg on that cycle was the highest amount I managed to handle.

SteadyLedger26archiveJul 11

I'm taking six milligrams of Tirzapeptide every five days just to hold steady. The scale has barely shifted, maybe a pound or two up or down, across the past six weeks. Earlier I reached fifteen milligrams once a week. I tried different amounts and changed the timing around. I've lost sixty-three pounds altogether. My type-two diabetes and blood pressure both stay fine without any other prescriptions now. I'm not looking to drop further. Everything feels really good. Finding a workable plan seems like it will involve personal trial and error since circumstances vary so widely. Maybe proper research will eventually give clearer directions. At the moment it feels like everyone ends up creating their own approach. Results differ, so take care.

Grateful that you mentioned how it went for you. That really resonates with me. Plenty of factors come into play here, so I'm leaning toward reducing to the minimal amount that works after stabilizing. This process feels totally unpredictable!

Appreciate the pointer! Planning to check out that research myself. It seems to me that remaining at the highest amount during the upkeep phase might allow continued reduction. Not sure though, maybe I'm mistaken.

GreenMeadow54archiveJul 11

Following major weight reduction I started the treatment mainly to quiet persistent urges around eating. At 4.5 milligrams the urges stayed under control yet my overall vitality remained a bit below normal even once early tiredness passed. That pattern held after several weeks at the same level. Lowering to 3.5 milligrams while adding one milligram of the second compound produced the right balance. Benefits from the prior amount returned alongside usual energy.

BlueQuill49archiveJul 11

Gradually I raised my weekly amount until reaching 15 milligrams after roughly a year. Weight reduction then tapered off during the following six months before stopping entirely, turning that into my steady level. Hunger signals returned after about nine more months, prompting me to switch to dividing the dose into two 10 milligram portions each week.

Considering whether to include this in my routine yet feeling secretly anxious about it.

ClearLantern81archiveJul 12

I've kept my weight steady for more than a year, and timing the shots has mattered more than the amount each time. I kept the level under 7.5 so hunger would stay but the constant thoughts about eating would ease up, letting me pick better options. Over that period my whole view of meals changed into something positive I never had before. Now I actually enjoy giving my body foods that help it. Once I reached my target I raised daily intake to hold steady and began spacing the shots farther apart without lowering each one. These days the gaps run about three or four months. My system then seems to settle by shedding another five pounds with no other shifts, almost like it needs time to accept the new size. I'm considering moving down to 5 each week while keeping the longer gaps, since nothing else remains to drop. It's a spot I never expected to reach.

My use of these drugs began mainly to hold steady after dropping seventy kilos and keeping that off for twelve months, even though hunger never left. After that I tried a smaller amount of the first medication for about a year, which brought some unwanted reactions yet eased the appetite a little. A year back I moved to fifteen milligrams of the second one and then added five milligrams of the third because the hunger stayed, and lately I added half a milligram of the fourth, which gave fewer reactions than the earlier drug at point eight milligrams weekly. Over the past year another ten kilos came off, bringing me near a steady point at fifty five percent below the starting one forty five down to sixty four kilos. The biggest change is that constant hunger has gone, so eating only when actually hungry no longer leads to gains, something I had never managed before. Even relaxing a bit on very energy dense items has not thrown things off. The way stable weight gets defined in those trials seems off to me, since under five percent shift across three months might sound fine but compounds to twenty percent across a full year, which hardly counts as steady. Beginning a maintenance amount at a real flat point differs from starting it while the scale is still moving downward on these drugs, and the amount needed at a true flat point is likelier to be the right long term level. From what shows up in forums many appear to hold steady on smaller amounts than they used for the drop, though that crowd tends to be very driven and often adds exercise, and even the trials show some staying lower while most do not. Trying a reduced amount for a stretch to check results carries little obvious downside, as long as doses can be raised again if gains start before they get large, yet it still seems that whatever amount produced the loss will usually be the one needed to keep it. When obesity counts as more serious there is a solid case for remaining at the top levels long term to cut disease risks, since people in that range face high chances of diabetes and heart issues and larger amounts do more to lower those odds, while the dangers and any prior harm do not vanish fully just from big weight drops. These drugs also appear to lower chances of many other issues over time such as certain cancers, and bigger amounts likely work better even without full proof yet.

QuietLedger67archiveJul 12

I lowered my amount to 1.25 milligrams each week because I wanted to stop shedding extra pounds. My weight has held steady inside a narrow 3 to 5 pound window on this level. I never went past 7.5 milligrams at any point before.

LevelBramble14archiveJul 12

I came across recent research showing it's better to stick with the top amount once you hit your goal since cutting back leads to the pounds returning. This came up in a short video I watched online.

QuietAlder25archiveJul 12

I've kept my ideal body mass steady now past half a year. When I finished shedding pounds my dose was twenty milligrams of tirz on five-day intervals. For the past five months I've taken twelve milligrams weekly but lately lowered it to ten milligrams per week after going under my goal. Tirz gives me plenty of vitality provided I consume sufficient protein. Once I replaced it with two milligrams of reta for a single week and my baseline pulse jumped from seventy up to one hundred ten. I'm sticking with tirz instead.

For the last six weeks I've stayed on a maintenance level of two milligrams weekly of the tirzepatide combined with three hundred fifty micrograms of the ipamorelin and cjc no dac blend each day. Over the past five weeks that has helped me shed four kilograms. Today marks the seventh day since my previous dose and hunger still hasn't returned. I continue to fast every morning from five until noon following the peptide injection. Through this habit I've become accustomed to smaller food intake. My stomach has tightened up making big meals impossible. At this point the appetite control seems less connected to the tirz right now. Started at one hundred two kilograms aiming for seventy seven and now sit at seventy three after thirty six weeks from the beginning.

I serve as living evidence against that common idea. Pounds keep coming off even now that I'm on a steady low weekly amount. The pattern others describe may apply in some cases but clearly not in mine. It seems more likely for people who pushed their amounts higher over time. My path stayed modest from the start. I began at the lowest level, moved up once after a month, held steady for most of the months that followed, then dropped to the current maintenance level six weeks back. Loss continues despite that drop. There were rough patches along the way, yet I never counted on the medication alone to get me all the way to my target. My own choices mattered too. When cravings hit I simply skipped the food instead of raising the dose, knowing a bigger amount would make it tougher to quit later. I'm not ready to drop the medication entirely right now, though I intend to eventually.

I don't see the point in combining them without a clear purpose, yet when there's a valid justification, using both together works fine for me. My pulse rate rose slightly after starting the first medication, then it dropped partially but remains somewhat elevated, and adding the second one didn't cause any further rise. I think that if the initial one already caused an uptick, the smaller amount of the other probably won't add to it, though if there was no change before, an effect might show up. In any case, I don't expect significant issues from a cautious combination.

IronKettle95archiveJul 12

My regimen splits those two compounds at seven point five and three milligrams across the end and middle of the week. Lately I've begun wondering how a steady upkeep phase might appear. The personal trial I run feels like it will keep going for now. Whenever the scale shifts either way, I'll examine my eating patterns, movement habits, and the amounts involved. As options evolve over time, fresh medications and different versions will enter the picture. I can't picture ever dropping the substances that handle body mass. This trial of mine runs onward until I reach the planet's usual subsurface warmth.

CopperFenwick68archiveJul 12

For more than twelve months I've stayed in the upkeep stage at the exact strength I had when hitting my target.

LevelBramble14archiveJul 12

Yeah that sounds correct to me. It applies more to users who had bigger dosages and also those shedding higher fractions of their mass.

LevelTimber10archiveJul 12

Achieved my target on the ninth of July following twelve months precisely with Tirz. The dosage has stayed at six milligrams beginning in December. Wondering whether an adjustment will become necessary over the upcoming twelve months. Reading about maintaining identical amount throughout a full year leaves me optimistic 🤞

CopperQuill49archiveJul 12

Unfortunately my stabilizing amount turns out to be fifteen milligrams of Tirz. I'm trying reta now in hopes of restarting some movement after staying at the exact same body mass for nearly twelve months on this regimen. Raising the Tirz level to twenty milligrams while also bringing in Survo and Cagri produced no shift at all. The bright side is that fifteen milligrams of Tirz lets me keep my eighty pound reduction though my goal would be one hundred twenty pounds altogether.

Hey, sounds like the scale isn't moving anymore even though you're keeping at it. Eighty pounds gone is fantastic!

I have trouble knowing whether others require less to keep the effects steady or if improvement just stops for no clear reason and stays that way.

What made the pounds quit falling off for you? The system can't tell when the desired amount has been met. So what stopped the decline from continuing at the same intake?

QuietThistle70archiveJul 12

After wrapping up a stretch of shedding pounds that lasted seven months and finished more than twelve months back, the highest amount I reached was ten milligrams weekly of the same medication, though I only took that level three times. Nearly all the change happened across four months while using four and then six milligrams each week. Starting weight sat at two hundred eighty and ended at two hundred eighteen. I chose to hold steady there, even though it sat eighteen pounds above what I had hoped for, partly because I figured leaving a bit of extra fat might let my system adjust without pushing hard to add it back. I stepped the amount down to four milligrams and stayed there for thirteen months, holding within five pounds of that intermediate target the whole time. Higher amounts bothered my sleep, and I wanted to give my skin and maybe my metabolic rate a chance to adjust. Some comments I came across suggested a body can slowly shift its preferred weight downward, which could ease things later. I expect to stay on one of these medications at some level indefinitely, yet I want the smallest effective amount and would rather avoid returning to ten milligrams or more if possible. This feels like a long haul rather than a quick push. A month back I began layering in another option at one point five milligrams weekly while keeping the four milligrams of the first one, planning to raise the new one and lower the original over time. That has already brought three more pounds off. Reaching two hundred would mean dropping another fifteen, though how far the newer medication needs to go will decide that. In time I hope to settle at two hundred using whichever medication suits me best for ongoing use. Looking back at holding steady for a year on four milligrams showed me the effects are still noticeable, yet keeping the number on the scale steady still takes some personal discipline at that level. The medication helps but does not handle everything, so staying at a moderate amount means accepting continued effort on my part.
