I've been at this for eighteen months now and I'm just eleven pounds away from where I want to be so I totally get the feeling. For myself I chose to raise the amount a bit while making sure I consume sufficient protein. Personally I should dedicate more time to strengthening my core and improving my diet. I've pretty much abandoned trying to get adequate rest. π Since you're still young your physique should recover over time after carrying extra weight. I understand the urge to shed pounds fast yet gradual progress tends to be more effective in the end.
This thread ended up as an unfiltered ramble because my head feels fragile right now. I looked around but couldn't spot any section aimed at women, so here I am. If you're not up for reading someone who feels emotionally fragile, just scroll past. The core issue I'm wrestling with is how to adjust my dose while nearing my target and whether the current pace risks muscle instead of fat. At five foot seven and thirty two, with a fit frame, I started at two hundred seven pounds, sit at one hundred seventy seven now, and hope to land between one forty five and one fifty five. I've taken seven point five milligrams each week since early April and dropped thirty pounds over fourteen weeks, averaging just over two pounds weekly, which lands on the faster side of recommendations. So far my skin hasn't loosened, and I really want to keep it that way given my hEDS and the collagen problems that come with it. Muscle loss worries me too. The past couple of weeks I've skipped exercise entirely because hunger is low and hitting enough protein feels impossible. Energy has been flat, though the exhaustion might stem from the medication or from my usual autoimmune and sleep issues that never fully leave. When meals happen they stay balanced with poultry, fish, greens, and red meat. From what others share, those final twenty or thirty pounds tend to be the toughest. I'm unsure whether my total drop being under sixty pounds changes that or whether the remaining weight will strip muscle. Should I drop the dose to slow things for better nutrition and skin firmness, or hold steady and maybe move to ten milligrams to tackle the last stubborn twenty five pounds? The scale has only moved three and a half pounds in the past three weeks after seven weeks at the current level, which makes me wonder about going higher. I won't lie, the urge to finish quickly is strong, yet I'm trying to balance it against what actually supports my body instead of feeding vanity. My self image around looks is poor, so one part of me wants to push the dose upward fast and accept whatever happens to muscle or skin, while the other part wants to choose the longer term option. I can guess what most replies will suggest, but carrying it out feels difficult right now. Has anyone else been in this spot? I simply want to feel better about how I look. My husband is fine with where I am, so this is really for me. In the past I managed to feel okay at higher weights, yet lately my view of myself has soured. I can look at others and see beauty, but when I see myself the reaction is negative. This is turning into a complaint session. Have other women here dealt with body changes and had to shift how they talk to themselves? Outwardly I come across as capable and put together, and no one close except my partner knows how harsh the inner voice gets. I make sure that voice stays silent around my children so they don't pick up the same patterns I grew up hearing from my own mother, who stayed slim yet spent years criticizing her size.
