Need some opinions on Semax

30 replies20 peopleApr 23, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

Does Semax improve memory, focus, or cognition for work and study demands?

Users report highly variable results with Semax and its variants. Some notice clearer thinking, better word recall, mood lift, or short-term cognitive boosts from nasal or subq routes after days to weeks, while others feel nothing even at higher doses. Nasal NA-Semax is often preferred for quicker noticeable effects lasting a couple hours. A few compare it favorably to other peptides but note individual response rates around one-third strong, one-third mild, one-third none.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Whether nasal or subq delivery is superior, how long effects last, and if non-responders should keep trying higher doses or different routes.

Best dosing protocol, long-term outcomes, and safety when combined with SSRIs.

Nothing here is advice.

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about adding semax to what I'm already taking but the feedback I've seen online is all over the place on whether it actually does anything. My goal is something that supports brain performance because I'm in finance and trying to move up while also studying for exams, which is tough in this environment. Any personal stories on semax working or not, or other ideas for getting ahead at work, would help.

CopperBramble56archiveApr 24

I'm looking into semax at the moment and so far the outcomes are positive for me. Sleep is better and I feel calmer dealing with everyday stuff. I'm also using tirzepatide along with Nad plus and Mots c so overall I'm doing well. For the semax I'm turning it into a nasal spray the way it's done in Russia by mixing a 10mg vial with 2ml Bac water then 4ml saline and putting it in an empty spray bottle.

I take it along with a couple other things and one of them seems to have restored my memory to what it was decades ago. Before I had to think hard about answers but now they just come to me.

PatientBeacon15archiveApr 24

My memory feels improved and I don't have trouble finding the exact word I want anymore. Focusing on tasks is easier too. This came after several days of subq shots. The nasal version didn't do anything noticeable for me.

That by itself would be enough reason for me to try it, and any extra cognitive boost would just be a bonus.

Mine is supposed to show up Monday and I'm really hoping for similar results.

NA-Semax used nasally has been impressive for me. I do 250mcg twice a day and get a clear lift in thinking plus mood that lasts around two and a half hours each time. I'd recommend it.

WarmAlder51archiveApr 29

I've used it for a week now as a nasal spray. Started with two sprays per nostril at 100mcg each for 400mcg total once daily and got zero effect. Went up to four sprays per side for 800mcg total and still nothing at all. Not sure if it's worth getting more to try subq since that supposedly absorbs even less. Seems like some people respond and others don't, unlike things like GLP peptides where everyone gets results.

PatientSparrow94archiveApr 29

Plus one for nasal NA Semax. I tried the first two vials subq with little notice so I switched to nasal and finally felt something, though it doesn't last long for me. I just got adamax and that one I can definitely feel when done subq, almost too much to risk trying it nasally.

Remember that quite a few people need two to three weeks of Semax before it starts working.

NorthLantern66archiveApr 29

Semax works great for me and starts right away. The problem is it doesn't last very long so I'm going to get NA Semax and Adamax to try instead.

Another vote for the NA version since it lasts two to two and a half hours for me. I start feeling it about ten to fifteen minutes after nasal dosing.

CopperSignal16archiveApr 29

Today is day two of subq at 300mcg. Nothing so far. I'll update after a week if anything changes.

300mcg is pretty low for regular Semax but fine to begin with. I use 1mg subq and sometimes more once I'm used to it. With subq your system filters some before it reaches the brain barrier.

SharpAlder17archiveMay 5

I went up gradually to 800mcg each of selank and semax nasal and still don't notice anything. I'll finish this bottle and try the next one subq but I'm not expecting much. I really thought semax would help.

ClearMeadow73archiveMay 6

One week in at 500mcg daily. Head feels a bit clearer and colors look brighter, if that makes sense. At first it was almost like being slightly wired but not strongly. Still hard to stay focused on tasks so maybe that improves later or it's just how I am.

LevelAlder63archiveMay 6

I was about to ask the same thing because the nasal spray hasn't done much for me either. Planning to try subq and hoping it works.

That's pretty common with peptides from what I've seen. Maybe a third get a strong response, a third feel something mild, and a third get nothing.

SlowSparrow78archiveMay 6

Has anyone used it while on SSRIs? I'll check with my doctor first but would like to hear from others who have tried both.

My body ran Semax and NA Semax nasally for about eight weeks on a five on two off schedule, starting at 250mcg and going up to 1mg. Just started Adamax subq two days ago at 250mcg then 350mcg and will keep increasing. The nasal NA Semax was noticeable for the body, matching what others described. Curious about the right amount for Adamax and how it stacks up. Also been on SSRIs for half my life with no side effects but I go slow and careful. Will update.

Thanks, good to know your body had no problems with the SSRIs too. Getting off them would be ideal. I'll watch for any further updates.

Semax, selank and adamax were what I was hoping would help. So what's the final take?

CopperAlder51archiveMay 8
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

They are all permanent parts of what I keep on hand. Results vary person to person.

We should meet up sometime, spicy bro.

SharpCinder28archiveMay 8

Another possibility is PE-22-28.

CopperAlder51archiveMay 8
↳ replying to @SharpCinder28

I'm going to look into that one too eventually.

QuietAlder20archiveMay 8

Tried Semax, Selank and Adamax all subq at different doses up to a couple mg and got nothing. The only thing that really worked was cerebroprotein hydrolysate in liquid suspension form, not powder. Brain fog disappeared and a ten day course gives two to three months of clear thinking.

Where's my invite to the world's biggest arbys unless you're in a different colonial heights and not in VA.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 8

So is cerebrolysin better than Adamax?

CopperAlder51archiveMay 8
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

They serve different roles. Cerebrolysin helps rebuild damaged neural pathways from injury, illness or aging, same as Epitalon though it does other things. Adamax speeds up those pathways by raising BDNF. I see cerebrolysin and Epitalon as tuning the engine while Semax and its versions press the gas.

When you say cerebroprotein do you mean it as something different from grey market cerebrolysin? I've heard they aren't the same.
