Incredibly low maintenance

Summary

experiences with very low dose retatrutide for maintenance or continued loss

Several users report strong results from 1mg or less per week of retatrutide after larger weight drops on tirzepatide and retatrutide. One person lost over 100 pounds total and now finds even 1mg excessive while lifting, planning to try 0.75mg. Others note 1.5mg weekly works well with daily activity and controlled eating. Effects linger after stopping due to half-life, and some stay on microdoses mainly for metabolic and anti-inflammatory benefits rather than appetite control.

Has anyone else landed on an extremely small weekly amount? Not sure if I'm unusually sensitive, but even 1mg once a week already feels like more than I need. I usually have to push myself to eat proper meals. Lost 60 pounds on tirzepatide then another 45 on retatrutide across roughly 15 months. Staying on these medications for good. The retatrutide has me looking very lean, so I'm going to test 0.75mg weekly instead. Anyone seeing comparable effects? I lift heavy and used to need 8mg before it registered. Now my body seems to want me off it, but I'm not letting that happen. The awkward part is these big vials I'm working with.

Maybe you could trade or exchange them with someone?

I'm using 1.5mg each week. Dropped around 40 pounds in about 8 weeks. I stay very active with daily workouts and cardio. My eating is also tightly managed. Used it to finish a bulk phase.

When I saw the thread title I assumed you meant you were easy-going and didn't need much attention. It does sound promising that you might hold your results on such a small amount once you dial it in. I'm still working on the initial loss so I don't have maintenance experience yet. Nice work on the total drop and getting lean!

It's okay, not stressing over it at this point. Just being dramatic because it's impressive. 1.5mg weekly works out to very little cost per month.

Thanks a lot. Good luck on your side too.

Yeah it really simplifies things. Congrats on how far you've come.

I had said I'd stay on these meds forever, but I just finished my first week without any. I still lift six days a week and haven't added cardio. Surprisingly hunger hasn't spiked dramatically. It's difficult to gauge exactly how much retatrutide is still influencing things, especially since I had tapered down to 0.5mg. That amount was still producing solid results. Looking back, I basically eased myself off instead of stopping abruptly. Feels decent overall. Maybe others could try something similar.

No, forget that, I'm restarting.

What made you decide to restart? Planning to go back on a maintenance level?

Last week was the holiday period. The stretch between Christmas and New Year's is known for lots of tempting food, which is probably the trigger. The toughest fast I ever did was right after Christmas, even though I've gone longer without eating before. Constant exposure to those foods made it brutal. Having these medications then would have made it much simpler.

Keep in mind these medications have a half-life longer than the weekly interval, so doses overlap. It takes more than seven days for the impact to drop to nothing.

From everything shared here, people generally don't increase retatrutide amounts the same way they do with tirzepatide, except maybe in research settings. So how many units or milliliters are in the syringe when someone injects 2mg or less?

IronThistle42archiveDec 30, 2025

It varies with how much bacteriostatic water you add. I use a dosing calculator and often go with 0.5ml or 0.3ml syringes when the amounts are small. The unit markings stay the same, but smaller syringes make it easier to measure accurately.

I get that part. What strength is the solution you're pulling from? Feel free to say it's none of my concern.

KeenPebble77archiveDec 30, 2025

My partner and I both use a 50mg vial mixed with 1ml of bacteriostatic water. I take 6mg which comes to 0.12ml, so 2mg would be 0.04ml with that mix.

I almost always add 2ml of solution for anything going under the skin. That's just my preference.

ClearBeacon24archiveDec 30, 2025

I prepare mine so that 1mg equals 10 units. Makes it simpler to track when using several different compounds at once.

This is great to hear. I think my husband should consider adding it. Right now tirzepatide doesn't seem to be moving things for him. He's a larger guy near 300 pounds carrying extra around the middle, so it seems like this could help. The issue is he works from home at a desk so he doesn't move around much during the day. Maybe the fact that you've increased your activity is why you're getting such good results. I'd like to see what others think. I'm going to look for more threads on this because I'm interested now.

CopperAlder51archiveDec 30, 2025

I'm older and have knee issues that limit how much I can exercise. I also sit at a desk for work. I do some resistance training, aim for 5,000 steps, and live on the third floor so I go up and down extra times to hit that. That's basically it. I've still dropped 40 pounds in 12 weeks. He'll be fine on it.

Without any of these medications my usual sensation is that something is absent in my stomach and I don't like that feeling. At most I'd go to 2mg. I prefer actually feeling satisfied after eating. Otherwise there's this discomfort in my stomach. It's only been one week off so maybe I'm overreacting, but then there's also the heartburn.

PlainKettle41archiveDec 31, 2025

Plenty of people use very small amounts of retatrutide mainly for better insulin response, a higher metabolism, reduced inflammation, and targeting visceral fat rather than strong appetite control. It's more about fine-tuning. These aren't usually folks trying to shed a large amount quickly. Once I start trying it I expect to stay on a low dose for a long while just for those optimization effects.

WarmHarbour28archiveDec 31, 2025

Retatrutide costs more, but if it delivers better results with fewer milligrams then it's worth it. A couple of milligrams might match what 15mg of tirzepatide does. My doctor said to adjust tirzepatide based on how I feel. All of these medications end up being very individual in that way.
