I’m on 10 mg a week and mostly avoid carbs yet feel fine. We’re all different and the word “need” still bothers me. Down 46 lb in four months.

He’s right. Carbs raise blood sugar and trigger insulin; you can make someone fat with insulin alone. They’re fine in moderation but the “reta needs carbs” claim is overstated. I eat them last after protein, especially since most obese people are already insulin resistant.

Different story for serious lifters. With 21 heavy sets plus one-to-two hours of cardio daily I need carbs to hold muscle.

One hundred percent different for lifters and runners too.

Keto has always worked well for me once I’m past the first week or two; I get more energy, better sleep, clearer skin, and less bloating. I’m two weeks back into it now.
