How many calories do you aim for each day? In most cases carbohydrates work well for me and the same goes for fats along with proteins. Back during 2018 I tried cutting carbs and lost 80 pounds but put around 60 back on later. When using reta I find that feeling irritable often improves after eating some carbs. If everything is evened out and your requirements are covered it looks like you're on the right path at the moment. Are you thinking about remaining in ketosis indefinitely?
Sorry for the lengthy message but I'm hoping for input from folks who've been through this before. I'm trying to understand what it actually takes to consider an eating plan fully dialed in. At the moment my targets include a minimum of 124 grams of protein based on lean mass, about 35 grams of fiber, carbs kept under 25 grams and fats adjusted to fill the rest. Meals stay mostly whole and unprocessed with almost no packaged items except one shake each day. Over the past year I've gone through a big change dropping around 110 pounds with the help of certain medications while also starting regular sessions with a trainer on full body strength work. Recent lab results came back strong and scans from February 2025 plus March 2026 showed body fat moving from 48 percent down to 21 percent. I'm still roughly 15 pounds from my goal weight and aiming for around 15 percent body fat overall. Since early 2025 I've followed a very low carb style nearly all the time. Right now the focus is on reshaping my body without adding extra weight, staying lean while improving muscle tone and definition. So I'm curious how a truly solid nutrition setup looks at this stage and whether my current thinking lines up or needs changes. Any thoughts would be welcome as this community has been a big help and I wish I'd found it earlier.
