I didn't mean to criticize the person who shared that study at all. This topic really interests me personally because I began using these medications after I'd already shed the pounds. Those include volunteer bias, a mostly Caucasian group, hardly any participants with higher body weight, missing follow-up information for some, and no comparison arm. I would also point out that the ages tilt older, the share of men runs higher than usual in this area of work, the drop in sessions varied from person to person, and the total number of people involved stays modest. Even so, the work still moves understanding forward a bit on routes that might help sustain changes, though the gaps are real. Progress happens step by step through successive projects. The outlet ranks highly among those focused on weight-related topics and uses expert evaluation. This is solid enough work in its own right. It may encourage stronger follow-on efforts exploring the same maintenance routes.
