Holy Histamine! Big reaction to MT1 and Gluta

11 replies8 peopleMar 9, 2026☆ Follow
Summary

what causes widespread hives after glutathione followed by MT1 and is it safe to continue

One user developed torso hives and intense itching hours after a 1200 mg glutathione shot plus 200 mcg MT1, controlled it with antihistamines but noted the reaction returned the next morning. Others reported similar histamine issues with peptides, advised thigh injections to reduce reactions, and warned that any systemic response raises the chance of a worse episode including anaphylaxis on future use. Several participants stressed avoiding the combination or the substances entirely after such an event.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

whether the risk of a potentially fatal reaction is worth any continued experimentation with these optional compounds

Still open

how to safely test tolerance again or whether any dose adjustment eliminates the risk

Nothing here is advice.

Not too concerned anymore but wanted to flag that this kind of thing can occur. Been on glutathione 1200 mg for roughly five weeks, only recently taking the full amount in one go for the last two. Did the glutathione shot then about an hour later pinned 200 mcg of MT1. Had used the same MT1 the three days before with just mild nausea. Roughly two hours after the shot hives and heavy itching broke out across the torso and underarms. Took benadryl plus anti-itch spray and it settled until morning when it flared again. Used an Allegra that was around, finished off the last benadryl and another anti-itch sample. Needed the second Allegra by five o'clock. Since the meds worked and it never reached the face or throat I'm fine but disappointed. Still plan to look into both compounds again once things calm down, just skipping MT1 on glutathione days.

For bigger volume shots I prefer the outer thighs. Fewer histamine issues that way for me.

Might give that another try. It hurts more so I moved to ventro glute, but a bit of leg soreness beats a full day of red itchy welts.

How did things turn out for you? Just did my first MT1 at 0.25 mg and feel a bit flushed so I came here to check reactions. Yours has me a little worried now.

Like most people I steer clear of such large glutathione amounts. The Koreans use them because they prioritize results over caution.

Ikr some threads here are pure gold, the lore needs to be quoted. Your signature actually popped into my head a couple weeks back while pinning TB into my stomach. I usually use that spot because there's less feeling there. Went to inject, felt pressure and figured it was fine so I pushed the plunger. Like someone too eager it all sprayed across my stomach instead because the needle wasn't seated right and I lost the whole shot.

I'd still stay careful and keep epinephrine nearby. I've had histamine reactions to some peptides until one turned into full anaphylaxis.

From which one did you get the anaphylaxis?

CopperSignal27archiveJul 31

Any widespread allergic reaction that isn't just at the injection site, especially with hives described everywhere, points to a histamine-driven type 1 response. It is basically the same process as anaphylaxis but limited to the skin. Next time the reaction is likely to be stronger, and that chance is fairly high. No way to know the exact odds of anaphylaxis but it isn't zero. Most likely outcome is simply a stronger version of what already happened, yet the question remains what risk level is acceptable for something that could be fatal when the substance isn't required for survival. MT1 and glutathione are optional rather than essential. No doctor would probably feel safe giving either again after that kind of episode. The only reliable approach is to avoid whatever caused it.

Tesamorelin. I've had histamine reactions to several though. The earlier post about risk is accurate and based on solid checking.

Your name leads the list when folks start praying these days.
