Sudden side effects after months with no issues?

9 replies5 peopleNov 15, 2025☆ Follow
Summary

why would severe GI side effects suddenly appear after many months on a stable dose of this medication

One user developed intense gastroparesis symptoms two weeks ago despite steady use and weight loss for a year. Others suggest possible microbiome issues, infection, or an overfilled vial rather than the medication itself. Dose adjustment for lower body weight was considered but studies on similar drugs found no need to change dosing. Symptoms in another case resolved after adding enzymes and acid reducers.

This marks my third batch of the treatment I've maintained at twelve milligrams for several months without problems previously. I divide the amount into portions spaced four days apart. Over the past fourteen days I've suffered severe delayed stomach emptying including rotten egg burps, stomach pain, and loose stools, far more intense than during the initial dose increases. My weight has dropped by a pound each week from the beginning a year back. Starting weight two hundred sixty seven, current two hundred thirteen. Has anyone else noticed side effects appearing abruptly after an extended period? Suggestions would help.

I've been pondering how certain prescriptions scale with body mass so smaller folks get reduced amounts. After shedding quite a few pounds might the usual amount then feel more intense. Hardly anyone mentions this angle yet I can't figure out why it wouldn't apply.

Probably not tied to the medication after this much time has passed. It could stem from a disruption in gut flora or some kind of stomach bug instead. If things drag on beyond several days, feel intense, or bring along general sickness, a temperature spike, or traces of blood, getting checked by a doctor seems sensible. Any recent trips, courses of other meds, or shifts in what you eat? Taking a short break to monitor might clarify the picture, and picking back up at a reduced level could make sense if symptoms ease. Even that pause alone might settle things down irrespective of the root cause. I once dealt with similar burps that had a rotten-egg smell I had never noticed before while on a comparable treatment, and wondered if it linked to fiber levels plus certain bacteria, yet it faded without any clear explanation. Work looking at whether amounts should shift for body weight or kidney function with related treatments found little need for changes, since the variation stays modest next to how differently individuals respond overall, and small tweaks remain simple whenever they seem useful.

Nothing else varied in my daily habits or prescriptions, and I hadn't gone anywhere. The single shift came from opening a fresh batch, though it was from the identical source with the same potency and details. This could easily be unrelated.

I examined some analysis outcomes concerning fraudsters who alter lab data to boost their earnings from a particular provider. Apparently a run of the substance contained nearly three times the usual fill level, reaching 36mg. This appears to explain my situation too. With my weekly amount already set at 12mg, any extra content risks triggering adverse effects from both the dosage jump and surpassing the upper limit. Therefore I plan to forward a bottle from my current package for examination while switching over to an alternate one in the short term.

I wasn't using the same amount yet noticed comparable abrupt effects and shifts around two and a half months in. Things seemed perfect until out of nowhere I got irregular intense hiccup attacks along with multiple stomach problems. These persisted for three to four weeks before disappearing. I can't pinpoint the reason they stopped though a few ideas come to mind. One is beginning a gut enzyme supplement ahead of my initial daily meal sometimes repeating it later. Another involves adding a daily acid reducer for reflux. The third was lowering my reta amount. I've since increased it again past the prior level so that probably wasn't the cause. It might simply have been unrelated and resolved naturally leaving me taking the enzyme and reducer unnecessarily.

Great, I'm already handling those three steps, which should let me raise the dose again soon. This unexpected craving return sure is annoying.

Sure thing. I've stuck with this service right from the start because their help and ways to pay suit me well.
