Summary

How does adding cagrilintide to tirzepatide affect energy levels and appetite, and does staggering the injection days reduce fatigue?

Users report highly variable responses to cagrilintide when stacked with tirzepatide or reta. Several experienced strong fatigue and appetite loss after increasing from 0.25-0.5 mg to 1 mg or even starting at 0.5 mg, leading them to drop back down and separate the shots by several days. Others tolerate 1 mg or higher with only mild tiredness or none at all, while staggering doses appears to lessen the exhaustion for some who previously pinned both on the same day.

What this discussion establishesWhere people disagree

Some participants get no noticeable tiredness even at 1.2 mg while others are overwhelmed by fatigue at 0.25-0.5 mg; opinions also differ on whether same-day versus staggered dosing is the main driver of exhaustion.

Still open

Whether the fatigue lessens over time with continued use or if certain people simply cannot tolerate cagrilintide at any practical dose.

Nothing here is advice.

Started cag at half a milligram and it felt okay, so I tried a full milligram. That turned out to be a big error. I basically slept through two days and hardly ate anything because hunger disappeared. It works well as an add-on when the amount stays small. I do tirz on Sunday and cag on Wednesday. Since the lower amount was working fine, I'm dropping back down and staying there.

SharpCinder28archiveMay 22

How long were you on 0.5 mg before you increased?

WarmSparrow33archiveMay 22
↳ replying to @SharpCinder28

Roughly three months. I began at point two five.

SlowSignal40archiveMay 22

All right, it's settled. From now on Cagri gets called Iron Mike.

Same here. When I restart cagri I'm planning a long stretch at three hundred micrograms. Saw a related post yesterday about it.

PlainPebble42archiveMay 22

I just moved from one twenty five micrograms up to two fifty and noticed some tiredness for about a day. Nothing else explains it. I'm going to keep going because it does add to the tirz effect for me.

Appreciate you sharing this. Sorry the cagri wiped you out. I've had some really strong tiredness at night on point five this week, so I'm definitely going to move up very slowly. This is helpful to know.

SlowCompass46archiveMay 22

I must be different. I've been on cag for maybe eight weeks and I'm at one point two milligrams with no tiredness at all. Appetite is down but not extreme. I eat between fourteen hundred and two thousand calories, do ten to twenty thousand steps, and I'm also on twelve point five of tirz so I fill up faster. Hard to separate the two drugs, but I wasn't getting much suppression from tirz alone, so I think the cagri is doing most of it right now. Feeling fine on my current schedule so no plans to increase soon.

Good that the tiredness hasn't hit you. I tried cagri a couple months back for a few weeks with no sides and only mild appetite control. This round point five is really wearing me down and food hasn't crossed my mind since the shot. Something in your note makes me wonder if pinning both on the same day is why the fatigue is worse now. Last time I split them like you do. This time I figured since cagrisema is given together, why not. Tomorrow is injection day so I'll just do the tirzepatide by itself and save the cagri for Monday.

You have to keep us posted when you try that. If separating the tirz and cagri days actually cuts the exhaustion, that's something everyone needs to know. Hope you're right.

It's pretty common to offset the days when stacking these. Mainly it spreads out the food-noise control. So tirz, wait three days, then cagri or similar. That way I can keep the amounts lower. I only move them around if I know I'm going out for a big dinner and actually want to eat everything. I'm on maintenance though, so your results may vary.

I'll post next week and let you know how the tiredness goes. I'm hoping I can get past this side effect. Oddly, once I realized it was a side effect I stopped letting myself doze off on the couch and I've been all right. Normally I would have split the shots with days between them. When I stacked with sema last fall I kept them three days apart. I have no idea what made me decide to pin the cagri right after the tirz shot. I was looking at the cagrisema studies and thought why not, now I see why not.

IronLedger65archiveMay 22

I tried cagri two weeks ago at point two five zero. First day was fine but the second day I had zero energy. Not sleepy, just completely drained. It was bad enough that I skipped the next week. Tried again this week at point one seven zero and so far it's okay. Cagri is potent stuff.

Okay, then you're Holyfield. Watch your ears. So Elora is going to be killer too? You know living la vida loca?

SteadyTimber49archiveMay 22

I've been taking point five about three days after five milligrams of reta and I think it's adding some fatigue, but it's manageable. I like to do the cagri at night so I can sleep through the first wave, then I pin MOTS-C the next morning and that seems to help as well.

WarmMeadow92archiveMay 22
↳ replying to @IronLedger65

Maybe point five was just too high to start for me. Are you also using tirz or reta? What days do you pin?

IronLedger65archiveMay 22
↳ replying to @WarmMeadow92

Tirz ten milligrams on Monday and cagri on Thursday, which was yesterday. Today I'm feeling all right so next week I might try point two five zero again.

IronLedger65archiveMay 22
↳ replying to @SlowSignal40

I'm not in any hurry for the Elora. I like tirz and have enough to last years, so I'm unlikely to switch unless I hit the max dose and it stops working. By then they should have sorted out the kinks in testing anyway.

SharpAnchor92archiveMay 22

I'd only ever used tirzepatide before, but I'd been stalled for months with thirty pounds left. Monday I took my usual seven point five of tirz, finishing a three point five day split and planning to go back to fifteen once a week next Monday. Wednesday was my first cagri at point two five. Thursday evening I kept nodding off. Thursday night I got eleven hours of solid sleep. That would worry me if I had to drive when it hit. No other effects so far though, no appetite drop and no stomach issues.

I was going to ask what people think of that approach. I have cagri coming next week and I'm also looking at mots c for general energy. But where do I draw the line on adding too many things? I want the cagri for occasional hunger control on ten milligrams of tz, but if I need mots c to fight the tiredness from cagri, will I then need another peptide to help me sleep? So much left to look into.

SteadyTimber49archiveMay 22
↳ replying to @CopperSignal46

Yeah, it can turn into a slippery slope. I went from being nervous about one shot a week to eleven shots in a week over six months. The daily klow is what really pushes the totals up though.

WarmSparrow33archiveMay 23

It's wild how different everyone's response is. I can't handle reta at all, though I haven't heard many others say that. Glow and klow are fine for me, no burning or injection site problems. Now if I can work up the nerve to try mots. That's for another time.

BlueKettle52archiveMay 27

I just ordered cagri. Right now I'm on one milligram of reta weekly for the past five weeks and that already hits me pretty hard. So cagri will probably knock me out too. I'm thinking one hundred micrograms might be enough. I don't really need it, I just want to test it and see if I can drop calories further to speed up fat loss. Could be a mistake since I seem to respond strongly to these drugs, but we'll find out. I enjoy being a lab rat.

I moved my cagri this week to Monday morning instead of the same day as my tirzepatide on Saturday and I feel much better. Didn't fall asleep on the couch Monday night or last night and I'm wide awake right now. I'd tell anyone stacking cagri to separate the days and not do what I did by pinning both together. On another note, I really like how cagri feels. No real interest in food but I can still eat when I want to.

WarmAlder42archiveMay 28

That's good to hear. If the same thing happens next week when you keep the days separate and you confirm it, I'll go ahead and get some cagri myself.

WarmMeadow92archiveMay 28
↳ replying to @WarmAlder42

I'll update again next week. If I were starting over I'd separate the days and probably begin at point two five milligrams too.

WarmSparrow33archiveMay 28
↳ replying to @WarmMeadow92

That's exactly how I started. Tirzepatide on Sunday and cag on Wednesday.

WarmMeadow92archiveMay 28
↳ replying to @WarmSparrow33

I knew most people do it that way and still decided to pin them together. Thought I was experienced enough to handle it, but I'm clearly still learning. Also underestimated how strong cagri is. How's your own experience with it going?
